Negan rarely kills strong people right up front. He prefers breaking and controlling them. That's his game. He could care less about weak or stupid people. That's why he hasn't killed Rick or Darryl and one reason why he likes Carl.

Olivia got away with slapping Negan becuz his men wasn't around, so he won't showboat and show off on anyone as punishment. Michonne's whistling woke up Rick through the walkie. Daryl knew Jermaine was on top of the truck, it's why he looked up. The saviors' compound is trash, give me Alexandria any day of the week.

(EDIT: Doing a quick google search, apparently it WAS an intentional reference. Awesome. And I mean, it makes sense given there were several Wire alums on TWD.)

That' why he popped The Governor so quick after he gave Hershel the chop, and he was ready pop he head off before that. He wants Negan's , but he ONLY wants Negan's head. You could see it in his reaction to Glenn's death during the lineup. Everyone else was distraught and falling apart, but Carl was RAGING as he watched. I don't think he's ready to die yet, just willing to accept the possibility of it, and he still cares about other people, which is pretty much sums his whole character. Care about helping people while also not playing about his own people. A heart of gold that'll shoot you quick over his. He also young and very much didn't really have a plan. He just so happened to get a gun from the truck and went to work. In the comics, Carl does this also, but he was much younger, like 7/8, I think. So imagine a 7/8 with a machine gunning down a bunch of men lol. He killed a lot more than two Saviors. I kinda wish they had Carl kill more and go full crashout like the comics because I don't think this was a full crashout from him on the show. Here, he was just a kid with a mission and no actual plan, but looks like a crashout on paper, but it didn't seem like a complete crashout. There was still SOME logic and reasonable in there. But I can understand how having a 6 year old can get away with gunning down a bunch of men, and a 16 year old wouldn't because realistically Negan would probably really have to do something to Carl if that was the case. But two? 16 year old Carl can get away with that lol...

2025-08-07 21:01:57 +0000 UTCThey're not going to break Daryl he was abused as a child so they're not going to easily break him he know how to endure that kind of abuse I'm so glad he said his name was Daryl...I believe that's the difference between Daryl and Rick that Negan was able to break Rick so quickly and I guess that's kind of a catch 22 because Rick has children and he loves his people Daryl loves his people too but I believe his childhood has a lot to do with how he is he rather die than say I am Negan I give him much respect for staying true to who he is

The show will say later on what neagan’s job was before the fall but until then take a guess, it s a fun thing to do sometimes, hubby & I have done that with every character since Beth’s boyfriend died in the beginning of season 4
