I think Rick was trying to control his crash out. He wanted to react but he knew logically that it wouldn't be in the group's best interest. If it were just him by himself I don't think he would have controlled himself. I don't doubt that there was fear in him. But I don't think the fear was for himself. It was for the group. He doesn't do well when his people are in danger. That's what has caused him to become the man he is at this present time. He doesn't take chances when it comes to his people any longer so he shoots first. If you think back to when he ripped that guy's throat out it was similar.

I how the three people thar didn't break and looked Negan in the eye without fear everytime he walked pass or came up to them were Abraham, Carl, & Michonne. He didn't confront the latter directly in the show during the line up like in the comics, though. On here, he just looked her in her eyes as he walked pass, switched up his whistle when and simply nodded his head with a smile like, "What's up, shawty?", which I think was meant to a nod to what he said to Michonne in the comics when he approached her in the lineup(but far less inapproriate, or at least more subtle, which isn"/ a word normally to describe Negan, at all as you can tell by his grandiose showmanship lol). In the comics, he told Maggie that he wouldn't kill her because she's a woman. He also told Glenn & Heath that he wouldn't kill them because they were Asian & Black, and he didn't want to ever be accused of being racist lol. But with Michonne, he didn't give ther the luxury of either, despite being black AND a woman. His exact words he said to her "My, My... There's are a lot of things I'd like to do you, and killing you is absolutely at the f***ing bottom of that list. Still on it, though". So, he gave Heath a pass for being black and Maggie a pass for being a woman, but basically told Michonne that as fine as she is, she feels like too much of a PROBLEM to let the race card and/or womanhood save her from potentially meeting the end of Lucille. I guess he felt that dangerous energy like the Termite that accurately said that Michonne "looked lile a weapon with a weapon" lol... ETA: In the comics, Negan told Rick that he wouldn't kill him because he was the leader, and he didn't want to make Rick a martyr, which makes sense because killing Rick doesn't put fear. It'll just make his people want to kill him that much more and their get back will to honor their fallen leader. If the leader is still alive. Watch Rick after Simon told hi. To get on his knees and you can see Rick contemplating it as it's starts to zoom in on him. Look at Sasha standing next to him. She, and everyone else, are waiting for Rick's move before following the order. You can tell she hates having to do it, that they'd been resorted to having to literally fall to their knees before their enemy(and you know Sasha was a Crashout Queen just like a month and a half prior lol), but she's intelligent enough to know to follow suit because if their leader, who always stands on business, is getting down, then it's over and they have no way out of this. They lost. If the leader is scared, then it'll make everyone else scared. Whether Negan would decide to kill Rick in the show? 🤷🏾‍♀️...

I remember one time, we were racing up lake shore drive and i was in my partner passenger seat. Bros pulled up beside us and upped it at us from the other car. Yeah, it'a called placenta abruption, basically the placenta prematurely detaching from the wall, basically potentially causing a premature labor. Maggie got hit her lower back into something that was in the wall during her fight in the 6x13 "Same Boat" (that's where Glenn was rubbing the bruise on her lower back when they were in the shower and you could see both Glenn's cincer and probably Maggie's guilt about it, which is why she's also upset that they'ee risking their lives for her in a position she probably feels she put herself in for not staying home). A hard impact is one of the ways cause a placental abruption(some causes are even unknown), which kinda tears off the placenta from the uterine wall early, and even a small tear because it can cause premature labor, and considering that it very early in Maggie pregnancy, the fetus wouldn't survive it and most likely Maggie wouldn't either. It can cause hemmorhage which would make Maggie bleed out, as blood transfusion would definitely be very much needed if she did start hemorrhaging. The doctor has to stitch it back on and then when it get, you have to go and get it taken out, which It actually pretty common sadly and if not caught in time, both baby & mother can die. A hard I think both of my older sisters had it, and at least two were born like a month early were born early if I'm not mistaken). A lot of people don't understand how DEADLY pregnancy can be, even with modern medcine. From placenta tears to diabeties that might not even away(aka now you're a diabetic for the rest of your life). My oldest sister(who did end up with diabetes) almost died from a random rare, pregnancy related for of heart failure a month after she gave birth that theybonly.caugjt because she just so happed and she immediately got choppered out to the major hospital with the specialized cardiac care(my dad ended up there yeses later after his heart attack), and if she tried to physically have another baby, then she & the baby would very most likely die(I believe she may have even flatlined while she was in the hospital, and they didn't think shd'd make it through the night at one point). Honestly, the dangers of pregnancy need to be commonly discussed. Too many people are VERY ignorant about what it does to a woman's body when she's pregnant. They literally nurturing and developing a completely new organism that literally feeding on their life source, basically sucking the life of their mother in a sense, which can indeed turn very deadly for everyone. That's not even talking about the post pregnancy conditions, from postpartum depression to peripartum cardiomyopathy.

Remember it was CARL that actually got that shot off on The Governor after Hershel's neck got loose, He was already warning Daryl in that scene thay he should just go ahead and kill The Governor, and when "I'm . He got him in the arm, but if he took , The Governkr would have. And this goes all the way back tk what happened with Dale, and then later with his mom & T-Dogg(Rick not killing Andrew), and then Oscar, Axel, Andrea, & Merle (Rick not killing The Governor when he seemingly had the chance to). That why he dropped that kid in the season 3 finale and then dropped that speech on Rick about doing what you have to do(killing the enemy so they don't spin the black). That's partially why Carl was so mad at Rick after the prison fell because in a sense, what happened at the prison with The Governor proved his point. Rick didn't killed The Governor in season 3 and to Cafl, they lost everything and everyone because of it, while Rick wanted to plant gardens, and that Carl tried his follow his lead and putting down the guns for nothing... That's why he was feeling some type away after The Claimers attacked and he was distancing himself from Rick a bit, telling Michonne about still feeling like a monster because of the dark thoughts he gets, and how he feels like he's disappointing his father because he feels like he's not truly "the good man" Rick wants him to be and sees him as. He was listening to Rick talking to Daryl about having the Savage in him, and Carl realizes the savage that'll find himself drenched in his enemies blood and will brutalize the enemy that hurt his is within himself. Like now. Like Enid told him, everybody's trying to get Maggie to a hospital, but Carl's out there HOPING to run into them. Even when they got stopped the second day time by the Saviors on the road in this episode, Carl was ready to jump out and start shooting, Rick had to that it'd be 5 vs 16 with one of their own behind the wheel(you can tell Carl didn't really care lol), then Rick basically looked at him like, "Aye, act like you got some sense. Chill." The way Rick got so shook when he realized they had his Michonne though 😆😭. That was when Rick realized for sure that they were in trouble. Mivhonne's his anchor. Y'all take his anchor away anf Rick will be all over the placs, even before they got together. He was in that RV dripping sweat and rubbing those cut looks like it was gonna magically bring her back to him or that some of her "magic" would rub off and give him the answers he needed 😭😭😭...

lol, imagine how we felt watching it live! 😂 Had to wait months and I was dying to know who. I remember thinking if Daryl or Glenn dies I’m done with the show. Omg, my mom was so in denial that she thought it was a dream. I’m like lady, didn’t you watch the same episode as me💀. Such a frightening episode. I felt so helpless for the group cuz there was nothing they could do. Rick was scared, shocked, worried and helpless. He had never been so low as a leader. It’s not Daryl’s fault that Rick and them are there cuz they left to help Maggie. It’s Daryl’s fault that his four are there; however, they didn’t have to follow him. He grown but he is family.

Man when this cliffhanger happened back in the day so many people were so mad 😆 I won't lie, I cried at the scene between Abraham and Eugene the first time I watched. Come on now though this isn't all Daryl's fault (the line up) It's just his fault that a couple more were added to it. They ALL would have wanted to go and help Maggie. Maybe one or two had stayed but that is that is STILL would have happened cuz Maggie had to go to Hilltop.
