She loved him and he left her and Elliot high and dry AND he sold his stocks to them. It is not their responsibility to beg him back (though I'm sure they tried), or wait on hold indefinitely for him to come to his senses. The problem with Walt is, he's always been about his ego. His toxic masculinity and that's very much reflected in his choices that clearly Brandon and Adison see as early as this season.

Then, he is sat with Hank and Walter Jr between them. Walt is visibly annoyed. He is listening to Hank drone on as usual. He remarks twice two things he doesn't know (Turtles/Tortoise and metaphor or analogy) to which, in his head, Walter is thinking "this guys is a fucking moron". Then he is asked to pour Hanks drink. He still has to pour the man a drink. He then takes some control back by allowing his son a drink. Then Hank emasculates Walter Jr with the usual "grow some hair" comment, which annoys Walter again. After starting another "Adventure about me and how great I am", Walter chooses again to take some control back and pour another for his son. On the third, Hank yanks control back by physically trying to stop the alcahol going into his cup. Walter can't allow this, so he shows Hank that the control is irrelevant and that he won't back down like he always does. I can keep going on this scene because it's such a masterclass of writing. You could look at the idea of Hank representing an agent of law and order, Walter an agent of chaos and disorder and Hank is trying to stop Walter poisoning his life. (Hand over the cup) Like a DEA agent trying to stop a criminal ruining lives. Maybe that's a stretch lol
