There’s no reason and no way I could ever consent to my child being unalived. You are emotionally and physically wired to protect your child, so I completely understand Joel. Save the world or save your child? For a parent there is no question.

2025-05-20 15:18:12 +0000 UTCI don't think it was that she 'didn't care', it think it was just that she felt that Gail deserved the truth and was tired if Joel's lies and he knew that which is why he wasn't upset that she called him out. He knew he was wrong. He shouldn't have agreed to Eugene's idea but if he was planning on ending him, he shouldn't have lied about that and promised otherwise, hence why he knew that Ellie was justified in what she did. Also, it wasn't disloyalty when she never agreed with or was ok with what he did. He was disloyal to her, not the other way around. Either way, I was fine with him ending Eugene's life then and there, I just wish he didn't lie to both of them about his intentions.

We saw it when Jackson was overrun and one of the infected townspeople - who had not yet turned - handed his gun over and was shot in the head. There was no waiting. No goodbyes. Joel's problem was agreeing to Ellie's demand that he break the rules! And the disloyalty of Ellie when she ratted him out? Joel should have been done with her right there. She did NOT care about how it would affect Gail. So mad.

I feel like as a parent, we do the best we can, and knowing that we aren’t perfect is what makes it hard, and so I think we all want our kids to do better than we do.
