* After Rick returns to the prison, while talking to Maggie, the Hyundai's driver's door is open, after a few shots, the passenger's door is open while the driver's door is closed. The two doors change from open to closed during the change of shots, until both doors are shown closed, but when Rick is walking back to the car, the driver's door is open again like in the beginning of the scene. * When Rick bludgeons the walker with his rifle, he is clearly shown attaching a fresh magazine. It is also visible while he hits the walker. However, in the next shot, the magazine is missing and Carl throws him another one. However, Rick was forced to bludgeon the walker as his gun didn't fire so its possible the magazine was empty or was a dud. * When the prison survivors start reanimating and attacking Cell Block A, Maggie and Rick are outside chopping wood to hold up the fence when they hear the gunshot. It is daylight at this time. When Maggie runs off, Rick goes to find Carl to help him, but by this point it is suddenly pitch dark outside. Even though only minutes seem to have passed. * When Rick and Maggie are reinforcing the fence, Rick's gun is holstered on his left side, rather than its usual place on his right. * Hershel cocks his shotgun to kill the walkers before he realizes the children are watching. After leading them away, he cocks his shotgun again despite never firing it.

However, they already know what's happening, despite Hershel trying to hide it. * The episode's exact runtime is 00:42:59. * David Morrissey (The Governor/Philip) returns in this episode after being absent since S3EP16 "Welcome to the Tombs" * He is listed under "Also Starring" to not give away his appearance. * The song featured in this episode is "Oats in the Water" by Ben Howard * This episode takes place at the same time as S4EP7 "Dead Weight" * This is the first episode since S3EP11 "I Ain't a Judas" to show the prison yard during night time. * Glenn was located in cell one hundred when he was about to asphyxiate, this could be a nod to Issue 100. * The ending of the episode mirrors the beginning of the S4EP1 "30 Days Without An Accident", with similar camera angles and events, Rick refreshing himself with water and Carl saying he didn't wake him up before taking care of the crops. This implies that everything has returned to normality after overcoming the flu. * The is the first and so far only episode of the TV series that when first aired on AMC, there was no commercial break in between the opening title sequence and the following first act scene.

2025-04-20 22:43:03 +0000 UTCthis is one of my favorite episodes. i was stressed about glenn i really thought he was a goner for a second. loved the scene with rick and carl shooting down the herd. the pride on ricks face, with a tinge of fear was beautiful. carl is growing up and he is a survivor. he's evolved and he knows how to defend himself and his family. but rick is also scared bc what will happen to him the older he gets? his baby boy is killer and he isn't even a full grown man yet. which isn't something you should be proud of but in a world like this, it's almost necessary. big h is the goat, always has been always will be. he has been so strong. mentally, physically and spiritually, all of it. he doesn't let what happens to him affect him. you wouldn't even know he was missing a leg either. sucks that most of his efforts didn't make a difference but at least he tried.

AND GUESSS WHAT???!!! The disease spread and people died ANYWAY... so her plan did not stop the spread of the outbreak. She was wrong and did all that in vain.

No more pigs or hunting. Every carnivorous animal should be walkers by now. Are birds gonna start attacking now?? Lmao just too many hoops to jump through so audiences won’t tear it apart.

Hershel have come a long way from a character that I didn’t really like for trying to throw Rick and off the farm to a character who would give his all for his found family. And yes we’re having spaghetti Tuesday on Wednesday 😂. Rick and Carl killing walkers together and the pride Rick shows towards Carl at the end. I heard they shot this scene the night Chandler (Carl) turned 14. Great episode and I always enjoy the song choice, Oats in the Water by Ben Howard. And while we’re at our lowest here comes this viper ready to strike 🙄. Also I must say Brandon you’re got great eyes to see that watch was Christian Dior 😂. I don’t think the animals can turn guys.

His dad was an alcoholic who beat him with his fists on the regular as a child and herschel ran away when he was 15 and didn't come back til he was dead. It affected him to the point of addiction too and he was an alcoholic getting drunk all the time. I think they have a connection that way. Man I love Herschel so much ❤️ the best kind of person someone can be ❤️

Ya know, people's first instinct it that strong, young, and healthy individuals are the best asset in a situation like this but I don't think you can afford to underestimate having someone like Hershel around. Not just because he's medically trained. He's the soul of the entire group and he is invaluable to life at this point. He's one of the best characters on this show. Also, a reminder, Karen and David got sick way before the others who just died. Unfortunately, I think that shows they would've died first. Not to excuse Carol.....I just see her position. Either way....luckily it looks like Glen and Sasha are on their way to recovering because of the meds. Thank God.

Like when someone is placed on a ventilator. They don't have a ventilator so Glen is using an ambu bag to provide positive pressure into the lungs. It would be difficult to maintain long term. I believe the animals don't become Walkers because the disease is species-specific. For example, humans can contract rabies or hookworm from a dog but not distemper, parvo or heartworm. Some human infections can infect dogs such as MRSA or ringworm....while others can't like measles, mumps and rubella. I think that was what the show was going for with the animals not being infected the same.
