Cersi planned to have him killed "accidentally" while competing. She also planned for him to have another "accident" while hunting but the boar did the job for her.

I saw someone say she poisoned him but I believe he died from the critical wound the boar gave him, not from a poison.

And when Jamie wasn’t around, he was fucking his cousin cirsie , who also honey potted him into poisoning the kings wine while he was hunting, so he would be gored to death the boar The poison would’ve been milk of the poppy, all opiates in real life come from that plant and the milk comes from the plant pod when you slice it if you were to smoke the milk that you would fall asleep and start tripping as well as the pain relief it brings I believe drinking it too does the same but in small amounts, you can make wine run pretty much any form of alcohol, even more addictive even deadly which is what a lot of crooked rum merchants during the 17th century would do is put a slightly more addictive chemical in an already addictive substance, quite ingenious, because you got a customer who can’t help themselves, but come back for more sorry for the history lessons The real life, equivalent of what Robert got was his wife put hydrocodone in her alcoholic husbands vodka before he went driving
