One of my favorite movies of all time, especially for the music! Btw, mostly white congregations can sing these hymns with soul too. Just Soul of a different sort. But, I'll never forget that sleepover with my friend and going to a Black church with her family for the first time. That music will stay in your bones.

Edit: and I saw guitar player when his band came through my town! We got hang while he waited for the locksmith to come, they’d lost their keys and didn’t realize until after the show 🤣 he’s a GREAT musician

Rey famous singer on Broadway. Rosemary Clooney Also this was based on Homers Iliad so the women at the creek are the sirens, John Goodman was the cyclops, etc
