The killing of all of the rat catchers is why Arya had so many cats to chase around the Red Keep. In the book, Otto brings a bunch of cats to the Keep after the hangings.

Let’s go back to the start 1. Alicent..yes you were a victim of your father plans to rule the world (HMHAS REF) however you perpetuated his ideals and ideas and then fit them to your pleasure bc of….rhaenyra having martial relations before actually being married….you visited a decrepit old man for nigh on 6 months and deluded yourself into thinking that was courtly appropriate…..and then pushed your OWN ambition on your children…threatening them with death if they didn’t steal their TEN year elder sisters throne? 2. Otto Hightower pimped out his daughter 3. Aegon didn’t even want the throne to begin with and is EXACTLY WHAT WE THOUGHT HIM TO BE unfit to rule (and he’s a ykw soo) 3. Aemond is Aemond. Team black is justified in the war. However DAEMON IS as much as a liability as he is an asset bc of things like this.

2024-06-25 16:58:26 +0000 UTCI agree, as a booklover myself I’m usually always of the opinion that you shouldn’t stray away from the source material but I think of the many things that have been changed, this change was welcomed. Especially as it furthers the plot and story line for multiple characters such as Christin Cole, Alicent & sowing conflict between Rhyneara and her council etc. but I do like to be a small reminder of how brutal the books really are, sometimes it helps to with coming to terms with things that happen in the episode 😂🫠🥲

On a humane level, and from a modern perspective, mostly all children, excluding those who're objectively evil, should be off limits. Innocence is precious, pure, and should be safeguarded whenever possible. But during a time where refusing to bend a knee results in losing your head, and beef is settled with cold steel and not hot lead, or night assassinations in your bed, all bets are off; you've got to shift your perspective at that point. So bump you, ya pops, ya moms, sis and bro, neph and niece, son and daughter; all ya'll can get it. War isn't fair, isn't pretty, isn't just, isn't righteous, isn't honorable; it's just War. And at the end of it all, is just a field of death. I find no fault in doing whatever you can; whatever it takes, to make sure there's less of your people in that field than theirs.

2024-06-25 04:56:24 +0000 UTCListen, I’m Team Black, purely for the fact that Rhaenyra is the rightful heir, and the Greens are usurpers (no matter what Alicent thinks Viserys told her in his death and drug fuelled mumbles). That being said, I cannot defend the atrocities that both sides cause during this war, it only gets worse from here guys 😂 In my opinion, Otto is the real villain here, if he had never started meddling for his daughter to be Queen, none of this would’ve happened.

The Queen is Helena and she should have had guards. Side note: sometimes I watch this and think of Dre. He would have been screaming into the mic for team black. Addison would have muted half the show. 😂

In order for that to happen, the head of the kings guard (Crispy Dickhead) had to have taken over watch himself or ordered the guards not to do their jobs. Beyond that, Aegon himself was entertaining multiple guards in the throne room and cracking jokes. Criston is at least halfway responsible for the murder, as is Aegon. Criston is genuinely the biggest flop in this story. Man SUCKS.

2024-06-24 21:05:21 +0000 UTCIf I remember correctly, in a dance of dragons (the book) Helena is given the option to pick between both her sons, the heir and her youngest (I am also sure the daughter is terribly assaulted in this process) she actually points out the youngest, the idea being he was to young to understand what was going on, and also try and save the heir. The assassins then laugh and kill the heir anyway and say to the youngest “hear that boy, your mother wants you dead” (or something like that) Helena could apparently not even look at her youngest son after this event, which 100% contributed to her already declined mental state. Also Alicent witnesses this whole event as it was her room that this took place in. It was well known that Helena would bring the children to see Alicent before bed every night, so the assassins actually tied Alicent up and waited for Helena to arrive. Just some extra info for ya😉
