2024-12-05 20:25:37 +0000 UTCNot gonna lie the Bible traumatized me as a child. So many dark, sexist and unrealistic things that scared me

2024-09-01 07:35:30 +0000 UTCI really wanted this reaction series to continue because I truly identified with it. My mom banned HP from my household but I never sold and read it all. I like hearing their reasoning behind why they defended their children from it and the twinning is the cutest 🥰

2024-05-14 03:58:15 +0000 UTCI don’t understand how they can’t see that the Bible does the exact same thing with regards to depicting evil and temptation, including very dark situations and the person who you are identifying with, is teaching that good should and can overcome evil. I think they have ignored that the actual lessons taught by this movie are all messages of overcoming evil and embracing love. I’d love to have asked them why those messages (the same messages that they themselves said they took from the film) don’t in fact make these films a story which teaches good messages and not to embrace the Biblical Sins. The mirror for example is a moral teaching. How do they justify their assertions about the dark imagery when compared to the Bible. Especially Old Testament. I don’t see how imagery about the Devil himself is ok for children but an evil wizard is too far? People didn’t leave the film with the desire to be like Draco…Harry Potter is obviously the protagonist. Please ask them this question, I’d love to know their reasoning.

2024-02-25 02:48:02 +0000 UTCI hope the ladies can get past Chamber of Secrets. 3rd HP:POA might be a challenge. Im a grandma and my son is 39 now and he read the books when he was young and I did, too. He was raised in the church and his personal values were and are strong and unshakable. He understood that this is a fantasy story. He turned out to be a well-balanced man. I wouldnt discourage reading books. My granddaughter is in high school now and she's reading the first one. The rule is that she has to finish the book before she sees the movie. Good luck with the HP journey.

2024-02-08 18:45:39 +0000 UTCWhen I was younger, my mother felt very much as yours do. Growing up in a Christian household, that's probably the norm. My mom refused for a bit, but then she read them herself. We ended becoming fans together. I'm glad that your mothers were willing to watch and react to this. They were so much fun to watch. I got my mom onto your reactions when you started H.P., I know she will love and relate a bit to this one. Great content, and amazing moms. 👏

2024-02-07 13:29:34 +0000 UTCI hope they'll consider watching further into the series! I think they might be pleasantly surprised that the underlying lessons of the film are more about friendship and loyalty and choosing the right path in life versus the "wizardry" of it. But thank you to them for being openminded!

2024-02-07 04:53:27 +0000 UTCOhhhh my goodness I LOVE y’all’s moms. I picked up on you guys being cousins but I didn’t know they were twins. I had left a comment on a YouTube video about being someone who can *fully* understand being an adult and watching Harry Potter (as an adult, because I couldn’t watch it until I went to college haha) and now in my 30s my momma STILL gets mad at me for liking it 😂 but still respecting my mom too. You guys actually got them to watch it…one day I’m going to make my mom and she’s probably gonna have the same little quips y’all’s mom do hahaha

2024-02-07 01:06:35 +0000 UTCI don't know if you know this, but the timeline for Harry Potter is from 1991 to 1998. Harry's parents died in 1981, and all three kids were born in 1980. But the first movie came out in 2001. Harry Potter's first book came out in 1998.

2024-02-06 21:23:33 +0000 UTCThe inscription over the mirror, when reversed, reads: ishow no tyo urfac ebu tyo urhe arts desire. Which, by changing the spacing and punctuation, reveals: I show not your face, but your heart's desire.

2024-02-06 12:16:38 +0000 UTCHi Adison. Thanks for the response. No, they were wonderful. I realize it was a first reaction and I hope they had fun. I just think because of their reservations on the subject matter, it was hard for them to immerse themselves into the story. They'd probably have an easier time with a different genre. Take care.

2024-02-06 05:53:19 +0000 UTCThanks for dropping a comment. They don’t do “reactions” or have any idea about the flow or anything of that nature. This was there very first time doing anything like this. It was more so to let them have fun and give them a glimpse into something me and the team have been working on for this channel. There was feedback I could give them but I am not perfect at it myself and I just wanted them to give it a shot without me putting to much pressure on them. I appreciate your feedback though, don’t want you to think I dismissed what you were saying. -Adison

2024-02-06 05:32:13 +0000 UTCLoved the reaction! Thank you for doing this. :) it’s always good to see a completely different perspective aswell. Sometimes got abit off topic and missed somethings! But did x1000000 times better than if I did it for my first time. Keep it up. :)

2024-02-06 05:30:13 +0000 UTCYour mothers are very sweet. I was really excited to watch this reaction but had to stop. It was extremely frustrating because they were too busy going off on various tangents that they couldn't get all of the details needed to follow the story. I don't understand how they missed pretty much every detail from why/how Harry got his owl, the importance of the 4 Houses, the ages of Harry and his friends, to even wrongly think all the students were orphans. etc. The mothers were very sweet but they genuinely looked like they were taking things way too literally or weren't interested enough to pay closer attention. I'm sure I'll get a lot of flack for my opinion but it was very disappointing.
