i read TMI but couldnt get into the show it felt too much like a knockoff and too much changed. loved the books though, and PJO books and every other Rick Riordan series Rick weaved Percy into

I took a fantasy fiction class (Eye of the World (WOT)) was one of the books we had to read as well as The Hobbit, and the themes for a lot of fantasy are similar and many are inspired by LOTR. I also took Classical studies (Greek and Roman mythology) so this series is insanely up my alley. I can’t wait for the rest!

2024-02-03 16:43:41 +0000 UTCI think you're noticing a lot of the archetypes of fantasy stories. The chosen one. The isolated/loner/bullied background. The "orphan" or unknown parentage. The coming into unexpected powers. All very common in the most known fantasy stories which then have their own specific twists etc. LOTR is the blueprint pretty much for most fantasy archetypes.
