Not sure if any of you looked up more info or read the books in between then and now, but yes, Rand is supposed to be the reincarnation of Lews Therin Telamon, the man at the beginning of the episode, meaning he has the same soul, although obviously not the same body. And Lews Therin was known as the Dragon (a military honour, not a prophecy at that point), and so the prophecy was of "the Dragon Reborn." He was supposed to be reborn to fight the Dark One for control of the world, but a lot of information was lost in the last 3000 years, probably because most of the it was stored electronically, and they not longer have computers in the time of the story (because Lews Therin accidentally destroyed that world by fighting the Dark One and unleashing the power that corrupted the male half of the Source), so they really don't know much about him at all.
