2017-08-10 20:04:45 +0000 UTCI find that those who think that have a fear built up from their frustration and confusion brought on by the concept of radical freedom, that being the philosophical idea that without any meaning to tie anyone down, you are free to do absolutely anything, but are condemned to be free, because they are completely responsible for everything they do. I personally don't see it as negative, though I can see why people would think that way. It's called existential dread. For a more optimistic look at nihilism, you can look at the idea of existentialism, or absurdism. But I think one video that really sums up, at least my comprehension of nihilism, in a video by "in a nutshell" Optimistic Nihilism. It's a great video.

2017-08-09 23:22:57 +0000 UTCI can definitely see that. Once I engage in a "fuck buddy" relationship, if I can't also talk to the person, I lose interest fast. Often the reasons I am interested in men who are not my aesthetic ideal is because of their intellect. Nerds are often sexually repressed, and if I can draw out that sexuality AND have a good conversation... I'm in! Do you feel, as a nihilist, that life is pointless and that it is a negative ideology? I always hear people say that the world would go to shit and we would have anarchy if we didn't have a strong sense or morality and purpose. I think that's bullshit.

That said, I have no qualms about being highly sexually active, though my personal interests tend to focus more towards working and less towards any effort to find a mate, even temporarily, though I know it to be entirely possible on my end. I'm probably that weird kid that gets more pleasure from intellectual conversation and cuddling than carnal pleasure and sex itself. My last mate would technically have fallen under the 'slut' characterization, but she was a very kindhearted intellectual who was passionate about everything they did, which was much more my initial draw.
