Here's something I shot in 2008 for a submission to Playboy that I backed out of once I decided Playboy wasn't wor me. It's funny... previous to actually being a model, I wanted so badly to do the Playboy thing. Then, after realizing the realities of how it affects model careers and the bullshit contracts and all that. If you wanna know more, watch my Why I Don't Do Porn video. I talk about my disdain for Playboy there. Anyway, like a lot of teenage girls, I thought Playboy was the best thing ever for a very short period. :)

Old school for old people. But it this particular moment, when America is looking inwards, perhaps in reflection, perhaps in renewal, maybe what is old is new again? Brands with that distinctive americaness rootedness like Playboy or say Harley Davidson have this peculiar window to represent themselves as relevant, today, in the now. Breathing signboards of heritage, cultural totems, that points to a past and maybe a future? A direction going forward in these... uncertain times. Though I would settle for pin-ups to be fashionable again. Though to update it to 2k17, Augment-Reality Pin-Ups or Virtual-Reality Pin Ups. An AR/VR Pin Up of Tara Babcock would be awesome. ^_^ Nice pic by the way Tara.
