A general observation, when I'm around neurodivergent people gossiping happens much less but only when they feel safe enough around me to unmask. It may lead to a long conversation about unique special interests, but I would always rather talk about something someone else is passionate about than gossip. I've also had a lot of conversations with neurodivergent people about "is this behavior normal in humans" and "are we peopleing correctly". Direct, honest communication is something I live for as a neurodivergent person but it usually means that people are unprepared for the direction a conversation goes with me. I found Unmasking Autism by Devon Price helpful.
