Punishment, for example, is another slippery slope. A hot, slippery slope. Let's discuss.

I think your behavior towards your child contributes a great deal to his remaining easy - you don’t yell, you’re consistent and trustworthy and affectionate and kind. If you were a mess of a parent, he wouldn’t be as calm. I give you a lot of credit for rationally choosing a healthy parenting style! BTW I base my opinions off of parenting my children, and also my observations from teaching for almost twenty years

2022-11-18 09:52:35 +0000 UTCRegarding your child- as far as I can tell, you got lucky. Most children are much more demanding. My first was as a toddler so easy I wondered if all the crazy kids I was hearing about were just… broken. Then I had my second. My third was such a calm baby (compared to my first two especially) that I asked her doctor if she had a developmental delay. He told me she was fine, showed me the signs on which he was basing his assessment, and very kindly did not laugh at me. My fourth was a whole other ball of yarn, with developmental delays and autism, very different from her sibs.
