Thanks for sharing your thoughts on community! I do think that there is a tendency among the general public to conflate "meta" with good, which is why I wasn't as big of a fan of 'wandavision' as everyone else. However, what I love about community is the way it plays with episode format and structure to explore the characters in new ways. I'm less into it's "meta-ness" and more the fact that it can change genres and formats on a dime and simultaneously deliver some really great character writing and exploration. Remedial Chaos theory is a perfect example. The way it tells an unconventional story and utilizes set up and payoff so effectively was mind blowing to me when I was in high school. Still I do think that the creators eventually got more focused on being "meta" overtime and that caused its downfall in later seasons.
