Found all the episodes in the copoganda series so far really interesting! The ideas for spooky cops, superheros as cops and outside the system- Veronica Mars sound great too

2020-10-06 10:34:14 +0000 UTCI don't know if this is within the scope of your series but I'd be interested in your take on which groups we've traditionally been comfortable with depictions that elide their problematic nature and which groups for which that is still considered unacceptable. eg: Pirates and gangsters, yes, nazis and al qaeda no. Drug dealers and assassins, yes, but pedophiles, no. There are obvious cases but also some much more subtle ones. eg: I don't think you could pitch "The Office but set in the Catholic Church" and not be expected to address head on the sexual abuse scandals but "The Office but it's a professional football team" can ignore the numerous sexual assault scandals within professional sports freely. If the goal of moving the police from one category to the other gains traction, what does that look like? What fiction that was previously ok now looks obviously unacceptable from this lens?
