STEVEN UNIVERSE: FUTURE Episode 16 "Fragments" Full Length Reaction

I got you! Last four next week

Oughhh yeah, and not only did he overtly kill someone, but Steven is to date the Only character of the cast we've seen overtly shatter any Gem on screen. We've heard hear-say about the Diamonds shattering before, but never seen it. Honestly such a daring choice to do with your main protag lol.

(Added note: I would personally really appreciate getting the last batch of episodes in one week if at all possible, because admittedly my year Patreon sub for the SU only tier runs out on like... the 13th I think, ahah.)

The thing that's so disturbing to me (positive~! in an interesting way!) about the end of this episode about what Steven's dealing with is not the fact that he shattered Jasper, but rather the fact that he has the ability to Bring Her Back to begin with. To basically wield a scary amount of control over the very whims of life and death. He's just realized that he not only has the power to easily Kill someone, but he can effectively "erase" the consequences of his actions by just bringing them back. I feel like that's what also bothered him so much about Greg not yelling or scolding him after he crashed the van- the fact that he was not given any consequences when he made a bad mistake. Your reaction to seeing Jasper's gem entirely busted was absolutely PEAK, probably the best reaction I've seen to this episode ever XD The music in this ep was also SUPER top notch, I love the Steven V Jasper and training montage music so much.

First off: loved the reaction to the gem reveal of Jasper, I think it caught everyone off guard on first watch. Secondly: I'm VERY excited to see you start regular show, it's one of my favorite shows and maybe an unpopular opinion: I actually love seeing reactors watch more comedy-based shows. I think what got me extra excited was some of your TAWOG reactions, because if Gumballs occasional jerkiness stresses you out, I cannot wait for you to be introduced to Mordecai and Rigby.

I also agree with your idea on how this episode could have ended with Jasper being angry with Steven, I think that WOULD be in character for her since this whole time she's basically been sulking on a mountain over the war being over and her having no one to fight. I think either direction this episode could have taken would have hit hard for Steven.

This episode is so insane 😶 Steven has so much anger and frustration with his situation that he NEEDED to let out, but in doing so he did the one thing he swore he never would - he killed someone. Sure he brought Jasper back but the fact that it happened will haunt him. He's so afraid of being like his mom (who we remember being implied to be very destructive and cruel in the past), and then having Jasper call him "my diamond" just reaffirms his fears. I feel like every episode Steven takes one step toward recovery and ten steps back 😭 the end of this episode is so chilling. He feels he can't talk to his family because he worries they'll be afraid of him, but the one person he DOES talk to just dismisses his fears and pushes him in the other direction. I feel like the one person who would be perfect for him to talk to at this point would be Connie, but he can't talk to her because she's busy! I personally love the writing of this epilogue series and I'm glad you're enjoying it too. It's definitely a huge shift in tone but imo it's rewarding after everything Steven went through in the main series. Now we get to sit down with Steven and see the culmination of five seasons of character development crashing down on him.
