I completely agree with you Mikey, Kappei Yamaguchi (Usopp) is definetely one of the great Plusses of watching the anime. And hearing his over-the-top interpretation of Usopp here makes it all the more jarring to hear him in other animes with a much more calmer voice xddd. Oh boy..... it's him, the moment of truth of near. Jonathan is a Vice-Admiral... so he must be pretty formidable in combat.... even tho his prefered weapon seems to be his brain. Once again.... it amazes me how well-animated this arc is, that scene of Usopp and Robin scouting the base, or the conversation between Luffy and Jonathan.... it's subtle but you can definetely notice the difference in quality between this and a normal Canon One Piece episode. I expect the Wit Studio Remake to have this level of animation quality.

2024-11-13 03:02:20 +0000 UTCThat scene at the end with Jonathan and the chess board really encapsulates what's so fun about this arc. The Straw Hats aren't able to punch their way out of this problem for once, so it becomes this whole cat and mouse game instead. I love it.
