Lion's warp really struggled to get as far as the Moon, Lars and the Off Colors are probably in another galaxy entirely so it's just too far for that power.

2024-08-22 03:21:20 +0000 UTCTo the best of my knowledge this has never been revealed (and at this point likely never will), but watching this episode immediately after the previous one (I'm playing a little bit of catch-up) got me thinking... Lion seems to have been transformed by Rose like Lars was by Steven. Lion (presumably) didn't have his roar-warp abilities before that. Does... does Lars actually have some form of warping power that no one knows about? Could he have theoretically brought the off colors directly to Earth? 🤔

2024-08-21 16:01:00 +0000 UTCThat Orb on the moon base was a very popular object of discussion and theory back when it appeared for the first time in the episode "It Could've Been Great" from Season 2. And now we finally got the answer... it is just an observation device xddd. Also... clarification: The planet Lapis is pointing at in the orb IS Earth, the werid-looking place that Steven highlighted that didn't look like Earth it's actually Mask Island, the place where the Watermelon Stevens are living. You first saw that island way back in the Season 1 episode called "Island Adventure" (y'know, the episode where Lars and Sadie kissed for the first time), and then once again in the Season 3 Premiere "Super Watermelon Island". I remember very vividly how a very large portion of the fandom were anticipating and begging for the longest time for a Lapis Solo Song. Now we've got it and it's.... Beautiful. I take my hat off to Jennifer Paz' amazing performance.

2024-08-20 21:31:55 +0000 UTCI wave hello to the squirrel outside your window who is eating, ahah. XD Gosh, I really like one of this episode's boarders- Miki Brewster, his name is? He draws the cutest Stevens. That shot of Steven yawning up in the moon base and being sleepy was one of his and it's just- GAH! So precious. And yeah, AMAZING song in this episode. Lapis has such a beautiful voice. It's fairly short, but this song is one of my personal favorites. One of the things this show always does very well is showcasing the long term impacts of trauma on a character's psyche- we've seen this manifest in many different ways for various characters already, and each little exploration shows a new interesting facet of how one might respond to such strains. Lapis' response is so tragic, but so relatable, hhh... complete isolation. Aaaand then we get that dream from Steven. I of course cannot say too much about things at this point because I do not want to sway or lead you, but I WILL have you know that I was beaming like a loon while watching you try and start to piece things together in your brain afterwards. I could see your eyes flickering back and forth as you thought and it was very entertaining to me, lol. THIS is why I watch reactions. It's so worth it to see The Thinking happen, ahah.

The beginning of it feels misleading, but then you get some really good character moments between Steven and Lapis and then an exciting lore question left at the end. One thing you should pay attention to is Rose's sword. Back in season two, Bismuth stated that Rose's sword couldn't shatter gems. So what does this mean for what happened to Pink Diamond?

2024-08-20 17:22:56 +0000 UTCI used to feel like Lapis. My past felt so big, like a weight crushing me, and I thought it would always feel that way. But it's been years, and things have changed, and I have changed, and it doesn't feel that way anymore. It's still there, but it's not hurting me anymore. Things do get better even if at the moment you think there's no way it could. You'll be okay, even if you're not the same person you used to be. Lapis' journey is relatable to me in that sense.
