Here I come with a fun fact that nobody cares about but... This episode was the first one to have a simoultaneous relase in the US and LATAM. The Latin American dub was infamous for being super super behind, but then there was a huge hiautus in the US so we caught up. From this episode until that one very important episode of S5, the dub was finally in in sync with USA, so I could watch those on a nice TV screen and not my phone or ipad.

2024-08-09 18:02:55 +0000 UTCThe symbol of the Diamond Authority has been showing pretty much since Season 1, you just had to pay attention to backgrounds of the episodes. But of course im not faulting you for not noticing, these things are not easy to spot on a first watch. Although... the symbol was shown on the entire foreground in the episode "Earthlings" from Season 3. But i guess that's also easy to forget since Jasper was having a mini-monologue during that shot. And No.... Yellow didn't have a "flesh look" that was just Steven and Connie's unconscious minds mixing Yellow Diamond with Connie's mom Priyanka.

2024-08-08 23:18:04 +0000 UTCI believe this episode won an award for the background work? Truly stunning stuff here- the colors especially are so vivid. This episode is always a funky one to watch for me, I like the inventive way it mashes together Connie’s home life and Steven’s connection with Gem stuff in the dream Stevonnie experiences. It’s a fusion dream, one might say! But yeah, it’s interesting to me how the dream placing Connie’s once (thankfully not anymore) too-strict and stern mother in “Yellow Diamond’s” role can tell you a lot about this character’s relationship with the newly revealed (at least, revealed beyond mere Mention) Pink in just a short scene. Gems may not have true familial relationships in the way humans do, but I think it can still reveal a lot to explore some of these characters within various shades of that framework. Interesting musings you shared post episode, I always enjoy hearing a reactor’s theories and seeing how their minds are ticking.
