Ahahah Julio already did a great rundown of various past lore connections to this ep, so my comment here will be brief- I loved seeing Andy again in this one, ahah. Like you I also question the ability of that plane to make it all the way from the east coast of America to Korea, so I’m just gonna headcanon they got his help to fly them to an international airport, ahahah. This episode was absolutely WILD on first airing. This and the next few actually leaked online a week early and I still have a super stark memory of dropping everything and running to my university library to go watch them before I got spoiled by the internet, lol. Will be especially looking forward to this next batch of eps coming up

Aside from "Gem Harvest" i think this is my favorite episode of Season 4, the build-up for the Blue Diamond reveal was brilliant. Yeah, the episode "Buddy's Book" did a very subtle but nice setup for this episode by showing us the ilustration of Pink Diamond's Palanquin without context. Damn... so thanks to her future vision Garnet already knew that Blue Diamond was on Earth, but she's so terrified of her that she was willing to just leave her alone. But that's really not suprising, after all our Ruby and Sapphire were originally part of Blue Diamond's court, and Ruby herself was sentenced to break by her after they fused for the first time. Steven was able to connect with Blue Diamond's psyche in his dreams. This is not something new, we have already seen Steven connecting with other beings via his dreams before..... He communicated with Lapis and Jasper when they were still fused as Malachite, he helped Kiki with her Pizza nightmares, he even gained the ability to possess other beings in his sleep like he did with the Watermelon Stevens and with Lars. Yes, Korea exists in Steven Universe... like i said before the show takes place in an alternate version of Earth, one where Hollywood is located in Kansas and for some reason there's a giant Hole where Russia is suppposed to be. The Korea montage was so fun, especially that fourth wall break..... and i do understand why would you think that lady drawing Steven and Greg was Rebecca Sugar... it does resemble her.... however that scene is supposed to be reference to the fact that the majority of Steven Universe's animation process is done in South Korea. So the lady in that scene is most likely just a random animator and not Rebecca herself. When Steven and Greg arrive at the location and encounter the fence that has a "Keep Out" sign and then below it has another wooden sign saying "Please" in perfect cursive... Greg says "This feels familiar". This is a reference to the episode "A Story For Steven" of Season 1, how after Greg and Rose met for the first time in his concert he went and looked for her and encountered a Fence around the Temple with the exact same signs "Keep Out, Please" (with Pearl definetely being the one who added the "Please" part in both of them xddd). We get a proper introduction to Blue Diamond and Blue Pearl, we have already seen her in the flashback of the episode "The Answer" but that wasn't really her Debut since Garnet was the one we were hearing every time Blue Diamond spoke in that story. We also hear Blue Pearl speak for the first time and gosh.... once again Deedee Magno Hall demonstrates her acting capabilities by portraying her "Pearl voice" but with a completely different modulation and delivery..... Blue Pearl sounds so somber and whispery, and just for that she instantly became a fan favorite xddd. Blue Diamond herself was a big suprise for a lot of people.... the way Garnet talked about her in "The Answer" made her seem just as ruthless and uncaring as Yellow Diamond... but here we see that she deeply mourns the loss of Pink Diamond. It was honestly very cool to see that even one of the Matriarchs of Homeworld was capable of having such a human-like behavior. But even in deep Melancholy her towering figure still commands respect and Power, and that feeling of both melancholy and power is possible thanks to the amazing performance of Lisa Hannigan. In case you don't know her.... she's an Irish Singer, musician and composer, she first began her musical career as a member of Damian Rice's band. Yes... it's unfortunate that Blue Diamond views humanity as a "lesser species" but honestly.... we can't entirely blame her for that..... after all she's the leader of the Gem Civilization, a Civilization that is mostly likely a Type 3 or more in Cosmic scale. In case you don't know the concept: Type 1 Civilization is one where the it's species is able to completely utilize all the energy sources of it's Home Planet. Type 2 Civilization is one where it's species in able to completely harness the energy of their Home Star and therefore has conquered their own Solar System. Type 3 Civilization is one where it's species is able to completely use all the energy sources of it's home Galaxy and has therefore conquered it. Type 4 Civilization is one that has control over the energy sources of multiple Galaxies, etc. We know thanks to the episode "Log Date 7 15 2" that the Gem Homeworld is located in a different Galaxy than Earth, meaning that the Gems have the power and capabilities of easily traveling across galaxies and colonizing every planet they encounter. That puts them in between a Type 3 and Type 4 Civilization, Humanity hasn't even reached the Type 1 category in Kardashev's scale.... so it makes sense why someone like Blue Diamond would only view humanity as a primitive species incapable of having her thought processes. Listen Mikey... i know you said you didn't want us to answer you about what Blue Diamond meant by "i can save one last piece of her legacy" when she grabbed Greg... but the episode itself answers that question. Blue said "This is your Planet after all, i still think it is" obviously referring to Pink Diamond and the fact that earth was originally her colony before Rose started the rebellion. Meaning that she sees all of Planet earth and it's inhabitants as a part of Pink Diamond's legacy... therefore the act of abducting Greg is a way of preserving Pink's memory (from Blue's point of view of course). Also... when Blue Diamond said "Im glad i came back one last time".... she wasn't saying that an invasion is coming soon or something like that (in case you thought that), she was actually talking about the Cluster, she says it herself.... "there's a Geo-weapon incubating in your planet that will destroy everything shortly", she says that she's glad she came back because she thinks the Cluster will destroy the planet very soon. The thing is.... the Diamonds don't know that Steven and Peridot were able to stop the Cluster from forming, back at the beginning of Season 3. Lastly.... one of the main reasons this episode is one of my favorites is because of that single shot of Blue Diamond summoning her Giant Arm-Space-Ship. The way she just waves her hand with a total non-chalant expression... and the way the Gigantic Arm slowly appears out the clouds in her back.... i don't know.... that image just stuck with me...... it gives me chills every time from the sheer power it transmits, the feeling of "how absolutely miniscule we all are in the presence of a single Diamond". I simply Love It. Sorry for the extremely long comment, i just really love this episode xddddd.

I love that the opening had a movie about alien abductions, and then…
