Dude, do u ever learn to stop just taking what characters say at face value? Because we see either in the same episode or a few episodes later that 90% of them are lying about their intentions!

Jenna not telling Elena that she was adopted right after her parents died is not the same thing as Elena not telling Jenna that she nows her birth mother is still alive and has met her (which is entirety Elena's business as it's her mother), she also failed to tell Jenna that John was her biological father! John may be a voucher, but it's not his fault. Eleanor is a hypocrite, she seems to forget how hurt and betrayed by a guy she barely knew not telling her he was a vampire, yet immediately turned around and kept things from her family and long time friends, including very personal things about her biological parents which could impact Jenna's guardianship of Elena! This whole messy is almost entirely Elena's fault, as well as Alaric who also lied, though he did want to tell Jenna but followed the request of Elena, the child!

At one point they tried to kill her off, but Ian (the actor that plays Damon) threatened to leave if they did. Idk if this considered a spoiler, but I thought u should know since u seem to be rlly liking her character. She is definitely a fan fav but does get the short end of the stick alot of the time. She's a hypocrite for doing the exact same thing. She's a manipulator through and through. Plus, this is life and death situation. Telling Jenna about what's going on would help be more aware of what's going on and be careful. Elena would've found out she's adopted when she turns 18 anyway. Knowing the truth about adoption shouldn't even matter if she loves her family she's with now. She was only curious about it because it has something to do with her boyfriend. Elena is a manipulative hypocrite.

Honestly, at that point, my brain would go "what if he had something to do with her death" and I'd want some answers too, especially after he starts acting dodgy about the whole topic. AND THEN HIS "DEAD" WIFE SHOWS UP AT HER DOOR! And they didn't get a divorce that she knows of so she's dating a technically still married man. It is an issue.

What Elena chooses to do with the info of her biological mother is up to her. You can be hurt but to push your niece away is immature. You’re her guardian, but acting like her high school best friend. She needed to act like an adult.

Adoption secrets especially inter-family adoption (Elena was adopted by her birth father’s brother and sister in-law. Not completely different people or family) are usually kept to allow the child to form normal familiar attachments (not saying this goes well all the time). Hiding a non-dead wife, unless it’s an actual sad/sore spot, isn’t beneficial to anyone except the person keeping the secret. If Isobel was human, the idea of protecting Jenna from danger is non-existent. The reason it was a secret was because of the vampire stuff which hasn’t been revealed to Jenna yet.
