Dude, Elena has a right to be shocked and surprised! She may have never asked if he killed anyone, but from the moment she found out he was a vampire, he has been lying and rewriting his history, pretending he has never behaved like a vampire or took human life, that it was Damon has always been the big bad vampire. So plane is just now, slowly, learning the truth, and the only time Stefan partially comes clean is when he is caught and she finds out by some other means first! I would be on Elena's side about sacrificing herself for all her friends and family, if she wasn't such a selfish hypocrite, acting like she is the only one allowed to make any choices or decisions not just about her own life but everyone else's! Its always about Elena and what she wants!

A lot of black people and Americans alike, would immediately sympathize and imagine slaves having a different perspective. The truth is, slaves had it good. A lot of them did. So much so, that after slavery was abolished, many of them stayed at their plantations and raised their families there. Jesse Lee Peterson is one of these keepers of real history. He grew up on a cotton plantation in the 1960s. His family was proud of their heritage and their standing in society. They worked hard and they raised their kids to work hard. All the racism garbage you learn about in school is just bias slop. Honing in on particular injustices. When real life happens everywhere, at once. There is so much more to history than just accepting what people tell you.

2025-06-29 20:23:25 +0000 UTCI get siding with Ric because *we* know why he’s keeping secrets but from Jenna’s perspective, *she* doesn’t know this secret is literally supernatural. Her mind is still in normality so yeah him being shady over something isn’t going to automatically indicate to her that he’s doing it to protect her, just that they have a relationship without honesty. AND, for that matter, in this world ignorance doesn’t always mean safety, especially if you’re associated with people in that world regardless. Like Katherine compelling her to stab herself is a prime example. If she knew what was going on and what to look for and be wary of, that probably wouldn’t have happened.

With Alaric being evasive about what happened to Isobel, after Jenna has heard dark hints about something not being right, it is a HUGE red flag, especially to a woman. It IS her business if they're dating and he's being deliberately evasive and having lied about it in the past. There is a way to explain that you're not ready to talk about something without sounding like a shifty bastard, but Alaric didn't pull it off well, plus he had already told her that Isobel is dead and the body never found. Without Jenna being in the loop of the supernatural truths, this is an inexplicable lie. Granted, Jenna absolutely should have talked to Alaric about this earlier instead of worrying silently, and she really sounded confrontational with Ric at the end here when she asked about Isobel. Point being, neither is excelling at communication, but if I didn't know about the wider truth of the vampires and what really happened to Isobel, I would 100% be on Jenna's side.
