2025-06-18 20:14:42 +0000 UTCtbh, the characters trusting Theo wasn't that crazy considering how mentally weak everyone has been this season (as viewers we shouldn't ever ever ever developed an ounce of trust towards Theo). Stiles did end up trusting Theo to a small extent, though it was through mutual blackmail. Theo knew that Stiles would never trust him the traditional way (aka saving someone), Theo sought out mutual assured destruction to at least make Stiles complacent which is why it was clever that Theo purposefully killed Josh. He not only put Stiles in a position where he had to keep quiet, but also had to be grateful that Theo saved him. And so Stiles unwittingly came to the conclusion that he'd have to trust Theo enough not to say anything about what happened. Obviously Theo's an ass and told Scott on purpose in a way that pointed Stiles in a bad light. the psychology of the show is really fascinating!
