Sinners Reaction

Comments

It's heavily implied that it's PTSD

ShadowSlicer22

crazy part is he couldn’t even roll because he has a condition where his left arm shakes so Stack was always rolling up for them

Hope Mikaelson

This movie takes place less than a 100 years ago and some people in America think racism doesn’t exist anymore 🙄

Tess D

This movie is set in the early 1900s. Long after mainstream slavery had been abolished. The people on the chain gang you saw were prisoners. A loop hole in the 13th amendment is thst when you are a prisoner of the state, you lose all.your rights and can basically become a slave to the state until your sentence is done. The divided streets and social sector was soemthing that was a result of the jim crow era ant the mom crow laws that followed suit. This was known as segregation, so whites only establishments and colored sections. The klan was alive and well and enforcing jim crow during these times. So your misunderstanding the time period. This is no longer the slavery era.

Ezekiel Jaramillo

I remember seeing him in another show where they had to time travel to when he recorded his first albums and make sure he finished it. And yeah without him there'd be no blues no rock no led zeppelin, beatles, stones, elvis

Mac

the mid credits actually make me emotional. stack saying it was the last time he saw his brother, last time he saw the sun, and they all felt free. shows u that even tho they are monsters, they remember those feelings and miss them

Mid-1800s in the United States. The first specific laws prohibiting shooting at someone, even without killing, start showing up in U.S. criminal codes around 1820s–1850s often under • “Assault with intent to kill” • “Assault with a deadly weapon” • “Discharging firearms at persons”

Roland Elving

Code of Ur-Nammu (circa 2100 BCE, Sumeria): One of the earliest written law codes. It imposed the death penalty for murder, showing that even 4,000 years ago, killing without cause was criminal. Code of Hammurabi (circa 1754 BCE, Babylon): “If a man kill another man without cause, he shall be put to death.” Bam. A legal basis for distinguishing murder from justified killing. Ancient Egypt and Mosaic Law (Old Testament): Both had strong prohibitions against murder, with laws surrounding intent, accident, and revenge. “Thou shalt not kill,” isn’t vague—it’s foundational. 🧾 Colonial America (~1600s–1700s Colonies like Virginia, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania adopted common law and passed local statutes criminalizing murder and assault with weapons. Verdict: Shooting someone in America has been illegal since colonial times—if it wasn’t justified (e.g., self-defense). The weapon didn’t matter. It was always about intent. Specific firearm-related homicide laws started appearing in the early 1800s, but they just reinforced what was earlier said.

Roland Elving

As far as slavery in the 30s, it was officially abolished in 1865 but black people were still forced to work on plantations for essentially no pay. Not to mention Jim Crow, the kkk, etc. Many were unemployed due to white people refusing to hire them. It was an awful time.

Sarah Espin

Finish dragon ball daima

Francis

Slavery in America was abolished in 1865 so this is ~70 years post slavery

jake_1111

sinners take place in like the mid 90's (edit: meant 1900s not 90s) slavery was abolished before that and i think the last state to have slaves like that was the very end of 1800s or early 1900s. and yea segregation lasted after that till like 1970

Yoxxhio

Loved this movie. Growing up in the south, this lowkey reminded me of stories of how it was for my grandparents during this time. This was the Jim Crow era Don, so think diet slavery. It’s slavery without being looked at as slavery. Put in perspective Don, it was still segregated till I think the 60’s? Racism in America during this time was borderline genocide. Not to mention experimentation, camps, and lynchings. America forgets but we never do.

Z M

please react to THE CONJURING UNIVERSE 😭🙏

I would love to see more horror movie reactions

Berman Cuadra

This movie changed everything for me lmao First film i saw in true IMAX ( had to drive over an hour to get there but was COMPLETELY WORTH IT) Everytime the movie would go from wide screen and fill out just imagine it filled up on an 67 Feet Tall, 88 Feet Wide Screen. Easily My Favorite Live action film ever because of the Themes and stories. I’m a huge music fan and I truly do feel like music is powerful and the way they depict that in this film is truly incredible. Fun Facts: His Club at the end is named Pearline’s That Train Station Scene was like the last scene they shot for the film And also this is Ryan Coogler’s (Director) and Michael B Jordan’s 5th movie together (Fruitvale Station, Creed, Black Panther & Wakanda Forever being the others)

JoZé
