bizness update:

patreon obligations filled for the month! big thanks to everyone whose joined in the past month! this is an update i do periodically on the state of the patreon.

there is presently not an upload schedule but here's how my schedule will be looking on a monthly basis this year:

week 1 - monthly in-streams [pays for basic living costs]

week 2- patreon pic(s) [ostensibly what this patreon funds], in-stream comm announcement and order processing

week 3-4- backlog

there will be another patreon pic added to the schedule when the monthly production budget surpasses $700 and a third at $1000. i will be doodling sven and other OCs too of course, these will appear much more often once the 1k target is reached.

my radical concept for patreon:

-no raffles

-no voting

-no early access

-no convoluted ways to get commission discounts

this might cause some to ask where the """"""value"""""" of the patreon comes from.. well, there """"isn't any"""". i believe i should be rewarded for the mere fact that i'm not running my patreon like a lottery scam. unless that's what people truly want of course, then i may consider it. but i'd rather people just crowdfund me to make art, wouldn't you?

right now, there's a lot of value for free members, it can be found in the chats window of the navigation bar. starting now nsfw WIPs will be posted there. do you see how committed i am to making this place the opposite of a scam? and yet hardly anyone even cares to stop by... well, we are still in the leading the horse to water stage not the making him drink stage. if you feel that you are getting value out of the free tier. consider the coffee from dunkin donuts tier. it would provide me with an immense amount of value..

full disclosure, i am completely swamped with work. new work, old work, i am raked by it on all sides. at all times, i am being fired at by obligations, both professional and personal, in enfilade, constantly. haven't gotten a full night's sleep in months at this point. tried taking a day off but didn't get any rest. yeah.. feeling a little out of energy at the moment.. i practically wrote two whole novels earlier this month about my burnout, everyone's up to speed by now i imagine.

patreon updates will be slow for a little while, until the production budget increases. i've exhausted the excess of energy i had in january. i was supplied a lump production budget to produce OC material amounting to roughly one large commission's worth, which is why there's now such a patreon presence. it gave me a wedge to hammer into my commissioned work schedule.

but after that was spent, the doodles i post at the 0$ free tier have come out of my own ""free time"" and/or paycheck (same thing at the end of the day). i am completely spent and exhausted right now (as mentioned) so i just do not have the energy to work on commissions for 10 hours a day, and then work on OCs for 2-3 hours after that as I was doing for all of january (while also dealing with a lot of other stuff). The patreon does pull in some money now, for which my gratitude cannot be measured. at the same time it's less than i would charge for the patreon pic as a commission, so a lot of the work here is still happening pro bono. but we're getting there. up to an undecided 4 figure amount, pledges will directly correlate to higher volume and higher quality of work on the patreon.
