Poll time - help choose my next video(s)!
Added 2023-06-13 19:15:00 +0000 UTCHello to those of you on the Golden Tier! I mentioned wanting to figure out a way to provide some more proper "value" for your incredible support, and I keep flipping between two ideas for the next shorter(ish) video while I'm grabbing footage for my larger end-of-month project. So I'm giving the first crack at this poll to you guys, to help me try and pick one and just bang that video out rather than being indecisive about it!
The two ideas are:
- A video that may well end up being longer anyway, digging into the Xbox Summer of Arcade. It was the first digital sale event on any game storefront, even before Steam sales, and it had a massive hand in building up indie gaming; games like Limbo and Braid are only known so widely because they were each one of their respective year's five featured Summer of Arcade games.
- And a video tentatively titled "Nobody Finishes Video Games." This one is just me looking through achievement/trophy data and pointing out that we as core players tend to overestimate how many people even stick with AAA-level games (and games in general). There's a lot of really cool data to look through with this topic, showing which games people stuck with, which ones had an outsized completion rate, and also helping show why a game like Days Gone can actually get a decent number of sales even though you can't find more than five people that will say they liked it.
Whichever of these I go with, the other will probably be an early July drop. I've got another couple ideas that I've had a similar indecisiveness with, but I know that the shorter of those two videos isn't the right one to drop right now because it's either niche as hell, or a huge performer that nobody would expect. Let me know your thoughts! (Quick note: If this poll's super close or tied, I'll probably open it up to the Silver Bolt tier in the next day or so, so vote quickly! My goal was initially to have this ready for the weekend in case Square sends me FFXVI more than a day before release, so I'm in action mode.
