How do you feel about puzzles?

I'm just curious about this, I'll be entertained with mapping for a while, and your opinion could be useful before designing some maps.

You've got fair points. The thing is, I'm working on infiltrating a research facility to reach the final boss. The puzzles will be there just to make the transitions between maps less boring. Not sure if it's considered "enhance the game with a purpose" or "stall the game for no reason". Thanks for the feedback!

depends on how its used is the puzzle being used to hide a secret scene? neat itll give me a reason to explore the world to find it/figure it out? is it a circle I have to speedup the game to complete because it takes so fricken long? no -.- basically - is it used to enhance the game with a purpose, or to stall the game for no reason so none of those 3 options fit IMO, because we dont know if there is a real purpose to the puzzle <_< think of how lockpicks are used in some games
