the head patting is definitely a cultural thing, you see it often in Japanese media when someone older is praising someone much younger, usually reserved for children. So in this case its a little funny to see an elf do it to human adults, especially in such awkward fashion haha

He looked all around and only looked up when he didn't see her anywhere since he didn't think any non-demon could fly.

My mind still feels like it was as a child and at times it feels like I'm pretending to be an adult, despite how long ago childhood was for me. But for the sake of creativity, I'll say that's a good thing. Not sure if I need anyone to rub my head though, haha.
