It's as if Hilde is unable to prioritize or something... it's possible to be attracted to someone and prioritize their happiness and friendship because you care about them at the same time. It would only be shitty if Hilde was ONLY driven by lust and that's very clearly not the case. Olivia continues to be really unattractive to me >:(

2019-10-17 15:06:06 +0000 UTCYeah I think Olivia is just wrong about how to handle this. Her assertion “either she’ll hate you for it or she won’t” is even wrong. Olivia seems to have pegged Hilde for “playing the long con,” that her help was essentially conditional upon getting laid, and can’t understand that Hilde is genuinely of two minds. In Olivia’s mind she seems to think “The truth that you helped her for her body will come out sooner or later, might as well be sooner,” but that’s inaccurate. Hilde helped out of a mixture if goodwill and attraction, in which case it works to gently test the waters and get a feel for Adrian’s receptiveness without ever coloring her friendship as having been conditional. But, it’s simply in Olivia’s character not to at all understand subtlety or compassion. She clearly approaches everything with extreme bluntness and can’t see why others don’t do the same. The most important question Hilde can ask herself is “If Adrian said no, if it absolutely wasn’t going to happen, would Hilde still help out all the same?” I imagine she would, Olivia seems to think not.

Like, it's not immoral to keep horniness out of a friendship, and it's good to help people regardless of whether part of you wants something "impure" out of it, as long as you don't really expect that "impure reward" or attach it as a condition of your help- neither of which she's doing. That said, I get that this is just to get the characters to sleep together, so whatevs, but it still seems to me that the other lady is wrong.
