That's because when you're totalled you're sent to the hospital for checkup depending on the insurance company (from my personal experience). My big brother has wrecked 3 cars in his lifetime (only 1 was his fault) and in all cases he was sent to the hospital even though he was completely fine (luckily, they were pretty nasty crashes).
