Monthly Checkup #25: Suspension Suffering
Added 2023-11-02 02:51:58 +0000 UTCHey everyone! Got a small bit of news for you.
If you still, somehow, don't know. I was recently suspended from FurAffinity for a week, and by the time you read this I should have my profile back. This is because two older submissions were reported by someone, who apparently was going around mass reporting pictures with the same character. It was two weight gain pictures featuring the beloved Tony Tony Chopper from One Piece. I had no idea he was "underage", I thought after the time skip he was 18 years old but apparently not. Whoops.
Despite that, I found that the community is still just as supportive and generous as ever. So the suspension hasn't nearly been so hard on me as I thought it would be. Unfortunately, after the suspension I'm not going to take any stupid and potentially problematic risks with subject matter anymore. This sadly means the Spyro weight gain drive, which was so wonderful and successful, will have to be deleted even if I technically aged him up. That's because his original look is so cute and resonates so much with me, making him look like the older Spyro people draw doesn't appeal to me nearly as much, since I dislike how the older dragons stand on two legs for some reason.
I KNEW the new policy update on FurAffinity would be rough, so I had a good reason to complain amongst other artists who criticized the policy. The problem is that instead of warning me to take some pictures down myself, which they have done before, they instead just suddenly suspended me because someone reported the art. They should, you know, warn you first to take the submissions down or else face a suspension or a ban. Maybe it's because of the moderator on duty on that day, I don't know. But I get it, this rule is important and I will try my best to follow it. However, you can't expect me to remember if any of my 3000 pictures violate this rule or not, and you certainly can't expect me to know if a character is underage or not especially if aging is so vague and it's not even a human character.
I WILL do a sweep of my gallery when I get my profile back to ensure there's nothing that will violate the rules. So hopefully this won't ever happen again.
The next violation will result in me getting permanently banned, which I can still appeal, but that seems really harsh for no reason and destructive to an autistic person like me who relies so much on FurAffinity as a comfortable routine for commissions. Sudden change is difficult on me, and whoever reported me... I don't blame you for wanting to just help make the furry community better and safer, so the blame is on how ban-happy the mod staff can be. WARN ME first, please, don't suddenly suspend! Thanks!

I really don't know what to make of FA's moderation team anymore. It feels like it's totally random who gets suspended for what.
