Here is an absolutely gorgeous picture of Dehltalia the Suicune all colored up after winning a Patreon poll to be finished! Originally requested as a sketch by Patron FullSpartand, this turned out so fine. @.@

Dehltlia sure knows how to relax in very inconvenient places. o3o While at the time having affectionate time with little tiny mortals she cares for. =w=

I actually don’t like doing top down views like this. Something about the artistic process gets turned off in my mind.

I suspect this has to do with my typical pictures from the side. With those the depth of the picture or even depth of the character makes a very easy, very clear progression of layer management. When it is top down like this it makes the flow of a picture feel more like you are doing large sections, particularly the ground, all at once.

For me, my creative process and drive is heavily dependent on easily breaking down pictures into distinct steps.

Once I got the flat colors for the ground established on this, the rest of it came together rather smoothly.
