I’ve been wanted to take my own spin on lava crack bikini design she was originally given, so here is my version with my own flare to it. >3>
For as beloved as these two gals are for me, I’m very glad Mr. Diamond waited so long to have me do these as only recently have I taken my digital art style to the next level of excellence.
As of this post, I now handle shading completely in grayscale and then tint the layers using hue/saturation masks. This helps enormously in keeping characters from looking muddy/dingy. But it has the advantage over my older style in that it no longer leaves boarders in shaded areas featuring patterns, such as Kyndla’s fingers here.
Also the new style is very module, so it is very easy for me to hit every level of detail a picture without forgetting things like I often would. (these usually are Shading, Highlights, Reflected Lights, Textures, Special Effects [such as atmospheric depth, dust plumes, glows], ect.)

Done with mechanical pencil on a print off YCH template on white card stock paper and colored digitally in Photoshop CS5.
