August 2022 Summary

As I tick off 8, technically 9, 70 hour work weeks since I purchased the piece of commercial real estate that houses my mom’s bookstore, it has been a loooong slog and it looks to continue for several more months.

I had a big financial goal that I set for the start of 2022 and after looking things over, I look like I will make it pretty easily. But the cost is heavy with me drowning in debt to pay off. I had to eliminate basically all non-essential expenses from my budget now.

One small update on the building: While the roof needs to be replaced, my partner who helped me purchase the building wants to hold off doing that until the Spring. That will help me take the time to pile up cash and be better able to handle that expenditure of about $60,000 once that time comes. Yah, that amount is well above what I make in a year and is a huge factor in my debt load. x-x’

Thankfully two my loans to pay for that won’t become active until the expenditure happens so I’ll be saving on interest. My current budget pretends I am making those payments however. That way when the expense happens, I’ll either have to take out smaller loans or I’ll have an amount I can quickly pay down and pay off part of it; again saving on more interest.

Nearly every day I listen to business and motivational podcasts to get me through my start of the day to end of the day every day work days. It’s what keeps me partially sane and motivated.

I’m hoping to get into a routine to share some of those motivational ideas each Sunday on my Twitter at https://twitter.com/EclipsisStudios

Definitely follow me there if you want to follow little things I share and also all Patreon previews and/or reminders.

Another part of my excessive work load was the Patreon commitments I took on in July as part of the 5th anniversary celebration. I’m still working through those and I think will take about two more months to fully clear out.

A reminder to my $30 Patrons: If you are on that tier and don’t turn in a sketch request for the month, if you have a history with me such as past requests, votings, or personally talking to me about ideas, I roll your request into next month with something of my choice that I think you would like. So do not feel like you are missing out! I try to finish such a request with the final doodles of the original month on the final day; you can have an idea of what might be coming to you when those are posted. >w>

Another reminder to both $30 and $10 Patrons: there is no true deadline for turning in requests except technically 6 p.m. on the final day of the month. I usually stop checking after that. If such a request comes in that late, I’ll roll it into next month if I don’t have time. The only other deadline is if you want your entry in time for the polls to be progressed to the next level of completion. Polls usually go up on the last or second to last weekend of the month.

Here we go to September! Many of the July Patreon request rewards are almost finished so you’ll start seeing those appearing soon.

Thank you Patrons for supporting me! I really appreciate it. ^.^
