July 2022 Summary

*-phew-* I think July was the first month in my life I worked over 300 hours of work. Buying that commercial real estate to support my mom’s bookstore basically means I have 4 jobs now. >.>’

Freelance work: Full time

Bookstore retail: Part time

Newspaper graphic design: Part time

Real estate management: Part time.

Every week in July was a 70 hour work week. I wake up in the morning and basically get to work right away and keep going until I go to bed with breaks for cooking actual food and some essential chores.

Now admittedly, some of this heavy workload was done to myself as part of my 5 year anniversary of my Patreon where I took on a much heavier workload to show my appreciation for my Patrons. Instead of hosting polls where there was a chance a Patron picture would progress in completion, every $10 or $30 Patron got to pick a picture to be upgraded to a sketch or fully finished respectively! These will be done over the course of 2-3 months. If a Patron didn’t submit an idea, I picked one for them based on what I know of them!

I won’t do that again for August but I do intend on hosting polls as normal on schedule. It’s still a great time to join in on the immersion with my cast especially with the monthly theme which is called “Immersion”. People can submit a reference picture or idea and I draw a character they picked to scale with that thing. Patrons are encouraged to pick something of importance to them so they would really feel like they are experiencing who they want throughout their weeks.

Pledges help me so much. Every little bit helps no matter how small it is. I’m the sort of person who will still stop and pick up pennies on the ground because it -is- money. (now just imagine the ladies picking up tinies like they were pennies too…)
