Here is a picture of hopefully a new product offering to pick from! This is referred to as “Traditional Color Sketch”. These are drawings that as designated from the start to be very quick and rough but still will have some unpolished color with them.
How this works is a rough sketch is created. From there the lines are gently erased and then gone over with Prismacolor Verithin Black. After that, the colors are added with Derwent Studio pencils. This is an almost entirely unused set of pencils I acquired over a decade ago at the recommendation of a European artist I used to associate with (“PearlEden”). I wasn’t too happy with inability to blend the colors like you could Prismacolors so I didn’t use them much.
At this point I consider it an expendable media and well suited for these quick pictures. The inability to blend well also helps force to keep this media quick.
The more I do of these, I may swap the Verithin for ink. Yes, ink; a very terrifying traditional media to use. You really have to know what you are doing if you use this media.
VDO was happy to give this a trial run featuring my very lovable Solerra the Vulpix strutting along and creating verdant prints from her getas. =w=
