April 2022 Summary
Added 2022-05-01 17:00:08 +0000 UTCApril marks an important turning point in how I feel as an artist. While it was most exemplified by the Ulu’Lania picture teased 2ndfrom right on this collection, many of these pictures helped create this realization.
After all these years, I have finally become the artist I’ve always wanted to be; making the art I always dreamed of making. There is a solid list of artist names I’ve long admired and wished I could do comparable work myself. And now, with my full blown investment into digital media, it’s like all the limits I was restricted to as a traditional artist have disappeared. I feel like I can do ANYTHING now and most importantly, it does not take me forever to do it.
This ties into one of the very first pieces of advice I learned when I learned how to draw in 2004: You can only make a picture as good as the media you use will let you. Digital has almost no limits compared to traditional. If I put my mind to it, I can do it or find a way to do it.
I may try it in May or June, but at last I plan on advancing to the “end game” I’ve wanted in doing digital art; the return to full lineless digital. To do this as I intend for it, I’ve needed to learn how to do 100% digital art where the picture at every level is done digitally. With these skills I should be able to do lineless digital painting that does not take 8-14 hours to do like it did in the past.
