2021 Summary of Art

Looking at this summary for 2021, I feel like I can really say now I am a professional artist. Yes this summary has 12 pictures featured on it, but I had to boil is down from nearly -100- choices.

Not only do I produce a lot today but the quality is exceptionally good. I do stuff today with ease that I couldn’t see myself managing well at all 2 years ago.

While not on this summary are Your Character Here pictures which were probably the most important thing I added to my freelance work in order to grow professionally. The digital medium let me improve my artistic design for art not just digitally but traditionally as well.

Plans for 2022:

Adoptables are the next big thing I want to get to. You all have seen the characters I’ve made for myself and others and I want to put that talent to a broader audience.

2021 had a substantial income goal across my three jobs and I ended up meeting the goal 99%. 2022 I want to keep the same income goal but with a substantial difference. I want to work less and have more time for myself. I want to expand my work in the “horizontal direction” as I’ve been referring to.

For a long time I was working 70+ hours per week; I don’t want to do that anymore. The big goal for 2022 is to earn more for what I already do. As a start I’ve negotiated a higher wage at my newspaper job.

Sometime this year I expect to raise what I charge on certain media I do, likely my pure color traditional and digital work. I would still like to see some improvements to my speed in completing such picture as I charge by the hour. I am nearly there!

Also, after a talk with an uncle, he made a solid point for me to consider attending conventions. He does not know anything about furry and such but for him to make an objective independent recommendation with solid reasons behind it left a strong impression. I did not like cons for the longest time. I saw them as too expensive for me to consider and I had no time to devote to attending. With me expanding my work in the horizontal direction, it SHOULD leave me open to warming up to attending a con.
