December 2021 Summary

The first week of December was a “vacation” as pkmndiamond493 visited me in real life for my birthday. Even though it was supposed to be a vacation, I ended up producing in various capacities over 20 pictures in that week’s time.

Then I went back to work at a fairly normal pace like I was before the vacation. I went on for a little while but then I hit one of the worst burnouts I’ve had in recent memory. My productivity completely unraveled, leaving me limping through the rest of the month by completing whatever I could manage to get myself to do.

The burnout was a hard lesson that showed I VASTLY need better work/life balance. I am making changes to how I do things coming the new year that should make me feel more at ease as I complete things.

January will be unavoidably slower for a different reason. My newspaper job has asked me to work quite a bit more to temporarily fill in someone quitting. To make this more worth my time, I negotiated a higher hourly wage for this job that should stick permanently.

With my reduced art production, here is what to expect my priorities to be:

1) Patreon content is my priority and I have a general roadmap schedule to getting everything worked on through the month.

2) Investing in my business: Historically this had a low priority on my list but I’m moving it up. This line item is investing in new YCH templates and the adoptables I keep talking about. This plays into my full year goal which I’ll talk about in my end of year summary submission

3) Commissions: Commissions are to be my 3rd priority and when it comes to these, I plan on doing a 50/50 split on what I do between regular and YCH commissions. If I run out of YCH commissions because the list is so small, I will look into public announcements to accept more. Because YCHs are expected to be half of my commission load, I want to make sure I have good diversity for people to pick from; hence the #2 item on this list.

The above list is what I’m going to go into the month trying but I don’t know if it will stick permanently. That is why I am listing it here instead of the year end summary. It may end up falling apart quickly. >.>’

I’m also trying to do away with “Must finish xxxx amount of xxxx each day.” Now it will be a general roadmap of what I ought to be working on when I find time to work on things.

December saw three new gals officially added to my cast at last and you can see the three of them in the activity summary. And guess what? I have even more in mind to add. @.@ Most of what I have in mind are warriors or mega mortals; they will come if I find time and inspiration to make myself sit down and do them.
