You could probably argue this is one of my most ambitious designs I’ve done to date. @.@ A Floatzel and Cursola hybrid; who would have thought of such?
The gal came to be inspired by talks with friends over the game Phasmophobia and having a Ghost Type character. Soon after I came across the game BaroTrauma which is a futuristic submarine co-op game and it put in my head a desire to make a ship builder sort of character.
At some point I decided I wanted to work with Cursola as my Ghost girl and I looked through a list of Water Type Pokemon to find a suitable hybrid. Eventually I came to Floatzel. I do already have a Floatzel but a very, very situational and unconventional one. I wanted to have one a little more “normal”, if you can call Bysseen normal in any capacity. >3>’
Then after the concept was established I decided that I wanted to have her do Minecraft inspired survival elements. I also teamed her up with the warrior goddess Sara’Nayde the Samurott to help maintain her naval craft for getting around. When out and about, Bysseen will build little shelters for herself and first mate pkmndiamond493, Josh the Flareon.
Bysseen was conceived before Hisuian Zoroark was revealed and had Bysseen not happened prior, I don’t think she would exist at all. I would have picked the Zoroark to be my Ghost Pokemon.
And no, Bysseen isn’t undead. I don’t plan on messing with death in my setting; kinda just glossing over the concept. What I think will happen with Ghost Types in my setting is that they had near death experiences and gained supernatural abilities due to divine intervention.
