My first test with body/face/voice capture
Added 2025-10-01 16:55:20 +0000 UTCThis is just a little improv test I did the other day in full Rokoko suit with the headrig and my XLR mic strapped to it. It will always require a little cleanup, but it was loads of fun and so much quicker. Why take weeks using my mouse to move bones around, when I can just act it out in real space and get an even more realistic animation in 30 seconds? 😁

To answer any concerns about "having to 2D animate every single mocap frame:" The final rig animations will still be broken down to regular "limited" animation frames with holds and such. The animation style of AFIS will be the same as it was in ep2 and everything you've seen since; this is just to save monumental amounts of time on the 3D rig animations.
If I can get all the main characters of the remaining scenes to have the same facial shapekeys (with mucho help from Slava) all character ref models will be animated this way in the future.

I appreciate it. I'm always looking for anything that chips away at required cleanup in post.

I found when calibrating and using my Rokoko suit, tying a jacket around my upper waist helped create a natural barrier against self-collision in the arms and chest during performance captures. Not sure if it'll help with your use case, but thought I'd share it. Keep at it! :)
