I am now using the Iray Renderer from DAZ again.
Nevertheless, Blender continues to play a MAJOR role in my content creation,
which means that I no longer have to accept the limitations of DAZ ;)
For those of you guys who are interested in why I switched back to the Iray renderer:
There are several reasons why I decided to use the "Iray" renderer and the daz environment for posing instead of blenders "Cycles" renderer again:
- The skin looks much better, out of the box (the subsurface scattering for example is amazing)
- With the newly acquired knowledge by learning Blender, I can make materials look at least as good in Iray as in the Cycles renderer!
- Much faster render times (doubled render speed in most cases)
- Much less system resources are needed (while working on scenes):
Because so many corrective shapekeys are needed to naturally represent poses with DAZ models in Blender, a lot of RAM (more than 50GB (!!!) at times) is required, which inevitably leads to a slower workflow.
In DAZ they are automatically integrated and hardly need any system resources.
-Daz added IK bones in their last version so the posing is way easier now.
-AND as I mentioned earlier ... there are no real limitations when using DAZ anymore, because I can use blender for content creation (and ZBrush for tiny details) now :)
I've added some fitness details for Jane aswell!
Do you guys like the results?
Please tell me in the comments :)
