Gene Hackman plays the Senator/Father, actually, and Nathan Lane is Albert/Mother. Most of the main people are or were straight, but Nathan Lane is a gay man. You know what the most absurd thing about this movie was? Val/Son being 20 and Barb/Daughter being 18. Come on🤨

I can appreciate how open minded Hella and Ivy are. They were both 3 steps ahead the entire movie 😁Really missed Chi though. Not the same without her. Rest in Peace Gene and Robin 😢

My favourite Williams movie, thanks ladies!
Still hoping you’ll give “A time to kill” a chance. Heavy 90’s dramas are your best reaction videos in my opinion.

I really love this movie and you did a very fun reaction ladies, I loved how protective you were of Albert throughout the movie! Although I think you mixed up Gene Hackman and Nathan Lane at the end, Nathan Lane played Albert and Gene Hackman played Senator Keeley, you may remember Gene Hackman from Superman and Unforgiven, still i'm overjoyed you picked this one as it is maybe my favorite Robin Williams movie, I recommend The Fisher King and Dead Poets Society if you want to watch another Robin movie.

There is an interesting clip on YouTube. When Robin Williams and Nathan Lane were on the Oprah show, Nathan Lane was not out as gay. Oprah tried to out him, and Robin Williams jumped in and took over the talk, in a way to help Nathan and defend him from Oprah.
Nathan was very nervous about this appearance and he has said later how grateful he was to Robin for sticking up for him and helping him.

If we're doing films directed by Mike Nichols, I would highly recommend The Graduate.

A pleasant surprise. A Robin Williams movie I think you'd enjoy is 'Bicentennial Man' (1999). To see him in a different kind of role try 'One Hour Photo' (2002)

Yes John F Kennedy was the US President in the early 60s. The Kennedys are probably the closest thing to royalty in the USA. They are an old and very influential family.

The Robin Williams journey continues! And I think this might be the first Nathan Lane movie as well. Very unexpected choice, but a good one.
