I've lost an old feline friend this week. Age 15, had a rather joyful life. Last time we got to sleep together like a pack was in early 2022 before I ran from Russia leaving Lyolek (name started as Leopold and now it is this) with my folks and naively hoping to reunite soon. We did "skype" often. Do you think animals can recognise you from a screen without any scent? Is where research on it? He had some time in the countryside this summer, even bodied an unlucky mole (it was mice mostly, but he would go wild out there). The interactions I get under these posts are limited so feels homy enough to share.
Everything is alright and proceeding as planned.

2023-08-07 16:44:41 +0000 UTCI actually do think some animals recognize the voice and sight of a person they imprinted on, even through screen. My dog doesn’t really comprehend us through the phone, though he does hear us through audio and starts roaming the house wondering where we are. Maybe should try computer screen. My condolences to the loss of your friend, I am glad to hear that he lived as long as he did and that he had a very active life in the country under the open sky. All the little moments matter more and more. ❤️

2023-08-07 12:42:00 +0000 UTCI'm not 100% sure about the Skype thing, but when I used to call my mom from college she'd put me on speaker and my cat would start acting weird. Supposedly he didn't do this with other people, so I think they can at least recognize voices. I am sorry to hear about him.
