It is the best anime, next to Shippuden (my goat), in terms of the show's ability to make you just get so invested in characters and the world/world-building. You will love every character like you love these characters and hate the bad ones just as much lol. So excited for that series!!!! I specifically look for One Piece and Shippuden reactors on Patreon lol so I'm stoked you are picking up my other major show

Naruto is one lucky bastard, isn't he? :D Also Shikaku trusts his son Shikamaru's judgement so much that he too believes in Naruto unquestionably. That was a cool scene. Also now let me tell you about the upcoming fillers. Ep 170 and 171 are fillers, you can skip those and resume from 172 and watch eps ending in 175. Then from 176 comes a huge filler batch up til 196 that you need to skip (trust me it was horrible watching those for so long when they aired) and resume from 197 and you can watch until 222 with only one mixed canon/filler at 213. In 213 the first like 3 minutes are canon the rest are all recaps.
