An author's mild curiosity.

This isn't the actual vote for which book I'll be working on after Steampunk Two, that'll happen once I finish the book.

Right now though, I'll admit to some curiosity as to how many people want what for the next book.

Again, this isn't the actual vote, just a little curiosity on my part :D

Activist Moon

Its been years. If I don’t get a continuation of Sexy Space Babes, Im throwing myself off a cliff

Activist Moon

Never understand that I love it.

SlanneshSoldier69

Sexy Steampunk Babes is my least favorite book by a long shot.

Camp

Do you have any idea on when it’ll be released? Because I’m dying for any kind of Space content.

Zeoncobra

It exists. 200,000 words give or take. Mostly finished. On my hard-drive. Mostly is the key word.

Blue Fishcake

I remember when I couldn't get enough of Space, then Sect came out and I avoided reading it for a while because I just wanted more of Space. When I finally did read it, I was shocked by how much I liked it even from the very beginning. I preferred it over Space! Then I couldn't get enough of Sect and was so sad that it ended and now I've been holding off on Steampunk. Seeing this poll and seeing Steampunk be this popular, I realise you've done it again and I will be probably love Steampunk too -- I was always going to read it, but this makes me even more excited. Honestly, I think whichever you have are the happiest writing will be the best one. I will read any of them.

Faris Alamin

The world and character building in your Sect story was easily supreme.

Maxx [REDACTED]

According to Bluefish and several other people on the SSB discord site, no. The VN is real. Though I’m wondering what’s going on with it as we haven’t heard anything about it except for a partially censored picture of the main nighkru character.

Zeoncobra

wait wasn't the vn an April Fools joke?

Bunten44

I just noticed this now. Personally, I'm dying for the next Space book. I'm trying to be patient for it, but it's been around three years since the end of Space 3 and that Space visual novel that you announced that was supposed to be released nearly a year ago is nowhere in sight, it's been getting harder and harder for me to wait for Space 4. There's so much of the Space universe that we haven't seen yet like the Consortium, Alliance and the Periphery. Also, I'm pretty sad to see that Space seems to be the least popular of your series which makes me wonder if we'll ever see Space 4.

Zeoncobra

Very excited to see Jason again. Always wanted to see what happens between him and all 3 factions. Also Yaro and Taro are very open ended

Activist Moon

Ngl I do want more Sexy Space Babes. Jason may have settled down with his girlfriends (and a boyfriend I guess?) and went to the periphery, but the upcoming war is inevitable. He'll get caught up in it sooner or later. Not to mention his relationship with Yaro is still up in the air. But the next book doesn't have to be centred around him. I was thinking about a new protagonist that happens to be a highly competent admiral. Unfortunately, him being surrounded by inept or scheming noble officers causes his fleet to underperform compared to others in the Navy and he's on the verge of being demoted. I'm imagining him to be someone like Grand Admiral Thrawn from Star Wars who's desperate to whip his fleet in shape before the war officially starts. Jason's new adventures in the periphery can be the B plot that'll eventually intersect with the main plot or it could be kept separate with a few references here and there.

FreezeFun

I think it was just how the cookie crumbled at the time. Due to the setting, he made the male characters femboys, which due to the internet's lust simply resulted in demands for it. By the time Sect rolled around, BFC likely had enough of a following that the random cries for more trap action weren't a big enough voice to sway him into doing it.

Lurkemancer

I can say for sure that I'd be most interested in Steampunk over Sect for now. The only critique that I have is how fast everything feels. It's great writing and incredibly effective and efficient in setting up and paying off on foreshadowing, but it's almost too much all killer no filler. I'd like a little more room to breath with the academy crew and everybody's families. Get a little more invested in the possibilities of things going wrong after being even more endeared to the characters

Zed Fox

I can't tell if my ambivalence towards sexy space is because that was the start for an author that has evolved greatly since then or if I just don't care for the universe. I feel much more invested in sexy sect and even sexy steampunk. I want to see how sect babes is going to evolve from the ending point. There's a whole lot of potential story now that Jack's real existence is known. Huang for example is going to have some things to say lol. How will Ren's old master react to the discovery? Will Shui be smart and put down any rebellious thoughts on her return? If so in what manners? How is the northern fort/wall coming along? Will Gao get the flower he so deserves? Hell the procedures that the healer dude tested some chapters ago would be ready. Will Gao forgive himself enough to remove the scarring? Will he just leave a little bit of the scarring as a reminder to himself and others? Like one of those badass anime characters with a scar. The physical proof of Gao's fight against the divine is a hell of a power play. Will An just disappear from the story or will we get some from her perspective? What other ways will Jack engage in to improve the quality of life in his borders? Will that create jealously amongst the peasants in the empire? Mass immigration feeding Jack's preparations? I see a whole lot of potentials there. What matters though is what does Blue the author feel? Do they feel like they have inspiration for a series of good stories for sex space? Sure then go do those inspired works of sexy space. I'd rather an author produce work based on their most inspiring thoughts. Don't force a sequel where you cannot find one.

Vonbaron

Personally I think "Sexy Sect Babes" had a good ending at a natural completion point for the story. Given how much of the worldbuilding there is to explore, I'm doubtful I'll be able to say the same at the end of steampunk 2 without a steampunk 3 and 4 to flush out more of the story

Jacob

I remember the the editors with amazon didn’t like it, and also something about them not wanting any public source of it, so for a little bit there was no publicly available source of space babes.

PalindromeJoe

I personally liked it and was hoping for another. It was odd that there was only one. A shame too, it was hot and well executed.

mike wade

You know now that I’m thinking about it it is kinda weird you wrote one gay sex scene years ago and never wrote another one again. I mean I’m not complaining, I’m strait but were you going through something back then?

Spintool

I feel we're just getting started and i can't wait for the reaction of the nobles when thay get buzzed by divebombers and realise "oh i fucked up"

Ollie Fairweather

Blue, I just saw an instagram post by @dr.candiselin and she explains that in Cantonese, anyone with “son” in their name is the “God of” something. And that anyone with the name “Jason” in Cantonese is translated to 啫神, which means God of 🍆. This is a sign. We must read more of Sexy Space Babes

Rex Regun

Do you have anywhere , where you've posted like a short recap of each story ? Like a previously on DBZ here's what happened last time ?

Riaan Brink

Big fan of Steampunk, it takes alot of the previous's stories points in a more subtle and long-haul approach. I really love Sect as well due to it being balls-to-the-wall and seeing Jack's arc where all his temple of lies come crashing down and all. For now i wanna keep on with steampunk to see when shit hits the fan, hyped for when it all blows up (in-story of course.) Also big fan of Will's added character complexity in recent chapters, where his harrowing is not just a convenient tool but something he has to constantly fight againts to remain normal and not fall to the Fae.

Drunk Pop-Tart

Space babes is on Amazon under the title "The Occupation Saga", I don't believe he ever published Sect

Admiralthrawnbar

You're right that the first diner scene would have gone differently for a complete zealot. Instead of being gang-pressed into military service, said zealot would have been thrown behind bars on some out-of-the-way prison colony, never to be heard from again. Don't forget that the main reason Jason got off with forced military service was because at no point in his known history was he an outspoken anti-Shil fellow. He disliked the way the purps have showed up, invaded them and all that, but he was smart enough to keep that to himself. Zealots tend to lack that kind of restraint.

Lurkemancer

You are one evil man... For one, our resident Novacock is in an interesting spot. Jason was absolutely not left in a position where he'll be able to just sit the coming war out, even if he'd like to convince himself otherwise. Which means that eventually, his so called "retirement" would have to end. Preferably with his conscience dragging him back to action (well, that and the fact that half his lovers are still contractually tied to the military). Though not necessarily into the arms of the military either, as the entire story from start to finish was constantly reaffirming that Jason Linford was not fit for the rigidities of military service. Half a layer of red tape before he could get shit done was too much for him and that has gotten him equal parts in shit and glory. Maybe from the frontier he could form something of a mercenary crew. Or a "I'll do most things for a paycheck because I'm bored" group, at least. Like a certain space cowboy. Hell, for such a role, all his baggage would be a boon more than a hindrance. On the other hand, Sect could have some interesting directions it could be taken in. Like, say, Canary Incorporated sending an actual, full-on fleet across realities with the sole intent of securing some samples of thaumaturgically active materials to see what they could use in their home world. If nothing else, the novelty of "genetically engineered" cow and catgirls alone could make them a neat amount of profit (especially because they could do it without violating other corporations' patents). For reference, I'm not talking about taking slaves; Maybe a few rather inhumane dissection victims at most, stemming from certain people not taking to the humans poking around kindly resulting in high power laser damage decomissioning some natives, but little beyond that, with the fleet's actual goals being to figure out magic shit and take it home. And they'd have little interest in Jack in general, at least in an official capacity. That all would introduce new conflicts and more importantly an opportunity for Jack to solve some of his issues. Like his limited nanobot count. Access to an unrestricted weapons library. A way to reverse his infertility. And different ways for him to pay for those things. Most important of all, it would allow for the passage of time with stuff happening without you necessarily needing to close out the grand conflict between the Monkey and the Fish and would give opportunities for you to show different parts of the world. And somewhere in book 6, the fleet fucks off, their research being done (obviously, the idea of them taking Jack home is brought up, which he'd obviously shoot down, because he likes being his own king) Bonus points that you could introduce people who knew Jack from his previous life as well. Like, say, a former crimelord from his hive city for whom he worked in the past. Yes, I may have been nursing that idea for a while... As for Steampunk, that entirely depends on how and how far things go. Plus the fact that the other two stories also deserve their own continuations.

Lurkemancer

For sure Sect Babes. Steampunk is my least favorite by a loooong shot.

Camp

Oh god, no. With all of my heart, no. Never. That's just every single alien invasion story ever :D With that said, I would indeed be super happy to write a new Space from the perspective of someone other than Jason - who's kind of finished his arc already and comes with a lot of baggage.

Blue Fishcake

If and when Space babes is brought back. Could it be from a perspective of someone else who’s a member of a pro-humanity (sticking with the old HFY attitude) sleeper cell that’s part of the initial Human recruitment, perhaps old members of the legion that the main character was a part of. Either way, this could be a story of subtle sabotage, information gathering, covert activity, planning for a mutiny on such a mass scale to deal a crippling blow to gain independence while the 2 front war is raging on between the imperial powers. This character might take up the offer that one Royal gave the main character and be in the heart and mind of the Imperial military and political C&C. The original main character from the previous books, I found to lack conviction and loyalty for humanity, going against the HFY brand a bit but this next character could change that. It would be fun to watch a complete Zealot try to hide his true intentions and take any chance he can to release that rage in any minor or major ways. For example, I think the diner event from the first book would go down a lot differently.

Conrad34xdsa

Whoa whoa whoa what makes Jack a bad person, Because he’s a dictator? He’s on par with William on how Much good he’s doing. He’s stopped famine, Gave mortals equality through the introduction of guns and Introduced technology that improves the lives of all his citizens. In my opinion his main goals being power doesn’t subtract from the good he’s doing

Spintool

Awww mannn why you gotta make me choose. I’m craving more sexy sect babes, it’s literally the best Isekai I’ve ever experienced (other than re:zero) but I really want to get to see the civil war and redwater get transformed into an industrial powerhouse

Spintool

I really liked Jack Johenson, he was the perfect blend of thug with a golden heart. He wasn't a Gary Sue, he wasn't some paragon of virtue, but his story told real themes about responsibility and leadership

Oreo-belt25

Fair enough. It is still certainly on my list. I like the other two stories so I’ll probably enjoy steampunk as well

Medical-Cyanide

Being a fan author for the Space setting is easy. The whole of Earth got Isekiad, so there is no shortage of possible protagonists. Sect and Steam almost require a fan author to get into the mindset of a native.

Groo

If Sect Babes is the next to continue any chance we could get a World Map for it? Or at least a Map of the Empire? I like to get a sense for the story locations in relation to each, and the overall geopolitical situations.

Conman2731

Technically I suppose Sexy Space Babes is the Marines, but I think Space Marine is taken

Larynx Punchworthy

Which flavor of military adventures do the readers want? Space Navy, Xianxia Army, or Magic Air Force?

Larynx Punchworthy

So, if it's going to be Sect, will Rooster will help undo his vasectomy?

Groo

Id love to go back to Space babes, but that feels like a magnum opis. You started with that, so getting experience from a few series would be nice before you do some more work on that. Steampunk babes is going well and the change in William is refreshing. Id like to see some development between william, varity’s family, and his people. A new story if you get the itch, an impoverished kid who has to choose between military or scientistific persuits and the struggles indicative of either, respectively.

Souplizzardo

Honestly I like steampunk more than the others.

SlanneshSoldier69

I can not speak on steampunk as sadly haven't gotten into it yet. Space Babes was fun and would be fun to see again. but like someone else said from another POV. Jason was fine but I'm personally not all that curious to figure out where he goes next. would be interesting to hear about or even meet him to figure out what happens next. Sect, however? Sect somehow left off with Jack being the most stable and least stable he has ever been. He no longer needs to worry about the Empire at least for this moment. But the foundations of his rule are cracked. like, Shi? (I think may have spelled it wrong or have the wrong folk) but he got divinity to back down. but the way he did it as well as technically being a mortal in the fact that he isn't a cultivator he will have problems. mostly from cultivators, but I could see even some mild issues from the normal folks, even if not a lot. Add in specifically what he threatened. even if he had no intention to act on that threat without hesitation it was still said. that isn't touching on the other mild plot points that can be explored. or the major ones. like the rest of the world in the setting?

Medical-Cyanide

Space Babes is great. But if anything I’d almost want another MC for a follow up? I liked where we left off and I’m a fan of not having to explain next steps for the MC of that one; just let him pop up later as a cameo or something. Stories don’t always need to end in full on epilogues. Sect on the other hand clearly has more to go off and ended on a cliff for the next arc

aj0413

I really wish the author would move some of that to a sorted thread on QQ or something. I can’t parse it myself :/

aj0413

While I definitely enjoy Sexy Space Babes, there enough tan content on the reddit that has kept me full, sect on the other hand has zero other stories then your own so i really want to see more of your vision

Indexo's Vault

Sect, with steampunk as a close second.

deadeyemax

As much as I'd love to see more of the misadventures of Jason and his bisexual harem, Sect is definitely my favorite of the bunch. We've only seen a small part of that world and the supporting characters are great. And while Jack is definitely the most morally dubious of your protagonists, seeing his growth was enjoyable as well and I'm eager to see where the story goes.

Redacted

Definitely Sect babes. Space got a valid ending and Steampunk is good but Sect has no fulfilling ending, just suddy abandoned.

Kinnos Sharpe

I hate Jack the most out of all the protagonists and identify with William the most, but Jason was always the one most interesting to me from a story perspective. Jason's story is also the 'sexyest' to me. Jack is too shit a person for me to like that aspect and William's hangups with being secretly old seem to stonewall most development. Meanwhile Jason seems to just trip into women dick first but maintains that cognitive dissonance of being unable to fully parse his circumstances for fear of what unboxing his compartmentalization will bring that has me going both "I wish I was him" and "he just like me fr."

Cameron Ford

Arg it's very, very, very tough ! I voted Sect because I had a really strong love for that universe and there are very fw fanfics to get more of that sweet sweet "YOU DARE ?". But I would also be very happy to see more of the Shil'Vati Empire, this universe is incredibly rich and could hold so many captivating plots.

Laenthis Tranchesoleil

Got recency biased bc it will be hard to remember all the characters completely, though I wish to see all continue

Kevo

Do you sell the completed books of yours anywhere?

Sebas Tian

Sect is the winner for me, the supporting cast is just so strong, and I really want to know what happens with the hydroponics overseer and the excursion to the elven lands

COR

Also, steampunk has just been building and building and if the final war isn’t 1000% epic it’ll feel like a huge disappointment. At that point Space Babes will be a perfect update to start off on

Rex Regun

I think the reason so few have chosen Space Babes (I chose it) was because it’s been a long while since we were in that universe. And while there have been spin offs from fans, a lot of us(me included) want to see how Jason’s story will shift and change. And more than anything I love the universe concept for the aliens. It’s the main reason I kept coming back to see what else you have up your sleeve. Besides, Sect babes feels like it ended on a good note and won’t need an update anytime soon. That’s more of a complete work already as it is

Rex Regun

I'm hoping for more Space, mostly because it's why I signed on to the patreon and it's been a while. You could do what some authors do and alternate chapter releases, rather than doing 1 full trilogy before switching.

Michael W

I’m in the minority apparently, but I think Space babes is the one that has the most potential. Jason is now rebuilding his life with no money, no harem, and no way to get back to Earth. Making a story from scratch would be a better idea than Jacks empire building or the political games William is playing

mhaj58

I have reread sect babes two or three times since it ended. Both the cast and world is interesting and have more to tell.

Johan Larsson

Sect is by far the most interesting from a universe perspective. I would happily follow the story of An on her travels just as much as I would follow Jack's antics. I would also be intrigued to find out more about Elwin as she was never really fleshed out.

Jamie Willetts

I like the more grounded, less powerful, protagonist in sexy space but the supporting cast in sexy sect beats the rest by a mile. They interact with each other more, and in ways that aren't just about the MC which is important. Steampunk has the most interesting setting and a clever take on how the MC gets his OP knowledge and how it affects him. If you took the time to develop the supporting cast in Space or Steampunk they could be my favs but even with its flaws Sect wins due to the cast feeling more alive.

Rags To Napkins

I just want you to finish one of them. Any of them! It would ease my mind to have a nice wrapped up conclusion that ties up loose ends.

The Fire Piper

Space babes!

mraanonymous

To be honest, Sect is best because I actually care about the supporting cast. I'm ambivalent towards the Steampunk cast, and have pretty much forgotten the Space cast. On the other hand, I'm still fond of Ann, Ren, Lin and Huang.

Calvin

Space seems to have to least places to go simply because the main character basically exiled himself at the end of it. He has no personal power besides his fame and its hard to see a path forward for him (despite his great growth, he is still easily the least intelligent, mature, and competent of your main characters at the end of their respective arcs) to make a real impact on the world of space without someone else forcing him into a mascot role. Sect and Steampunk by contrast both have their main characters in a position of power, with clear paths and goals to take and the means to work their way towards them.

Andrew Lechner

Ditto

Dragon Lord247

I have been reading since the start of sexy space babes so it remains my darling. I did unsub for this book as steam Punk doesn't really do it for me unfortunately :/ the reviews in these comments are encouraging and I'll likely read it in between chapters of the next book

AgentSquishy

Sect ended on an incredibly high note, and teased an incredibly open world with other interesting characters and motivations. Steampunk has a more intriguing story, and character interactions (in my opinion) and is getting to the incredibly high point that Sect ended on. I have yet to finish the Space Babes original run.

DownhillRabbit6.1

Hard choice between steampunk and sect. The stuff about harrowing in the epilogue of book 1 was amazing and I really like where the story has been going since. I think it has the most interesting ideas of what you've done so far. Despite all that I think I more consistently enjoyed sect chapter to chapter so I ended up going with that.

Luke Prictor

Sect babes just has a much clearer path in my mind towards the end game conflict. I feel like space bases has what could be a epic storyline, but it sort of achieved the original plot, and you'd have to build up hype. Steam is still in the middle of that original plot.

Ryan TM

This is like asking us to pick between one heaven and another heaven.

O

So far, steampunk has been less sexy than the other two but I'm also the most intrigued by the plot. Hoping more sex occurs, as there is a great cast for it.

Cole Deucalion

This is an impossible choice.

missionz3r0

Sect, imo, is peak

SmallTownBo

I think this poll would be more useful if you had a brief outline set in mind for each of the books, sect ended at a very exciting place compared to space. without an outline many would lean towards that one

LurkerFrontCenter

Dont make me choose give me everything

Big Lumpy Beetle

While sexy steampunk is great, waxy sect was just absolute peak and it's the only correct answer

JustShadow

Steampunk gets my vote. By far your best work and the most unique world.

Mark

Started reading during Sexy Space Babes on reddit, but joined for Sexy Sect Babes. I've absolutely fallen in love with Sexy Sect Babes. Though, while I didn't like Sexy Steampunk Babes at first, it's slowly grown into something I'm looking forward to reading every week, though, it's not on the same level as Sect just yet, for me.

Frayo

I prefer fantasy to sci-fi, and while I enjoy Sect, I think Steampunk did it better. Will using his knowledge and some modest magic to contend with the leaders of nations is more compelling to me than a dude with god-like technology contending with actual gods.

22junk

Easy SSB is the clear winner in this poll.

Austin Miller

I started reading your space babes series on r/HFY and was hooked. I then became a patreon member looking for more when you were in the early stages of Sect babes, and your Reddit uploads weren't enough. I love all 3 series so far and would be happy to see any continue, but my heavy bias goes towards Sect babes as thematically it is my favourite.... .. I also desperately want to witness the drama unfold around the pure blood human mortal from another realm, who can make the gods back down purely through his practical application of knowledge and bullshittery :D

Skonnchy

I would love to see a new character in sexy space babes now that your writing has evolved. Also it's been years we need this.

skyship enjoyer

I liked one and three more then 2 but still liked 2 alot

Dominic MoonPace

Though choice. I would love to see more of any of them. I think because Sect and Steampunk are more recent though I want more of their stories at the moment.

Clyde Spero

Sexy Sect Babes is where my wanderlust lies! I'd love to see Jack try and dodge the political machinations of what was revealed in the tournament!

Solemn

I deliberately haven't started reading “Sexy Steampunk Babes” yet because I don't want to go through the agony of waiting for the next chapter every week. With “Sexy Space Babes” it would be important to get a little synopsis beforehand, as everything up to now has been set in the army and this storyline has unfortunately, unfortunately, unfortunately ended? “Sexy Sect Babes” is currently better than ‘Sexy Space Babes’ because the plot in ‘Sexy Space Babes’ sometimes dragged on a bit and the extraordinarily ingenious solutions to problems were usually a bit simplistic. Nevertheless, the decision is very difficult, as I believe that a sequel to “Sexy Space Babes” could be much better thanks to the author's experience.

Neo tl1000sm1234

I would love to see some more space because I want the setting more fleshed out, especially how the empire works. However, the numbers in all polls I have seen always lean towards Sect or Steam, so I guess it will take a long while until there is any new official Space stuff.

Bunten44

Come on i have been waiting years now sexy space babes

Peter Jørgensen

Easily Sexy Sect Babes

Johan Larsson

While i have enjoyed all three. I can't really say much for steampunk given it's still in progress but I feel like my opinion will be the same as sect babes when this arc is done The ending too space babes seemed like a much more solid end too the story in its current Form. Assuming your planning on continuing with the same protagonist. (I could see pivoting into Jason adapting to civilian life on another word) Sect babes seems like it's just getting started. Sure the protagonist has secured his seat of power for the time being. But he does not seem like the type to be satisfied and not want more. That and external problems which will like come a knocking

Vortex

I got in for the sexy space babes, I shall stay for the sexy space babes

Blood Raven

Balanced as all things should be. Love all three for their own flavor.

Batou

Steam or sect.

BelligerentGnu

While all of them are awesome, I really want to see a return to Space. You left the world wide open there and I want to see where you take it.

DMR1

Smart

ethan

*sees my vote adding 1% in any choice* Oh so there's not that many votes yet lol

Atom

I do not for fear of it corrupting my own view of the setting.

Blue Fishcake

So far Steam is head and shoulders Above everything else. World makes sense. Characters are good. Dialogues, story pacing, are excellent. You have grown. A lot.

Mega Art

Might be recentcy bias, but I would love more Steampunk. That being said, a return to space would not be unwelcome.

Luke Payne

I'd love a continuation of Sect babes

Raphael Kaufmann

Quick question: are you reading the Sexy Space Babes fanfic? (Just One Drop, for example?)

JackPlague

A continuation of any of the three options would be satisfactory, although sect babes is a where my bias leans to.
