Patreon Update: Forwards and Backwards

Hey y'all! It's time to update you guys on what's going down again. Hopefully you're all doing good :)

Things with YouTube, happily, really seem to be kicking back on lately. The response to the latest video, about some strange little computer ports, was bloody fantastic -- way better than what I was expecting, to be honest. It's always really nice when that happens...you just don't know when the algorithm favours you sometimes, but it definitely smiled on here. Plus, people clearly just like learning about such things.

In the spirit of this, and also in the spirit of it being 25 years since the anniversary of the PS1, I have a video coming this Monday about a curious little subject -- it's a look at various arcade classics from the golden age that were remade for the PS1, sort of as an attempt to bring them kicking and screaming into the new 3D generation! It's quite a mixed bag, but there's some really cool titles to look at from this little fad...I'm going to whack this out in the editing suite today, and it should be available on here tomorrow.

As for the big System-3 video, that's also going well -- I'm hoping to get that out the Monday after. The original plan was to get this out this coming Monday, but we're still very much in the script writing stage. Said script is shaping up brilliantly, with lots of fun and exciting events to cover from the company's life, not to mention some brilliant games like International Karate and what have you...it should hopefully be another banger of a documentary :)

One of the absolute best things, also, has finally been returning to livestreaming -- we've had 2 absolutely kick-arse ones so far, one with random games and another where I tried to beat ol' Ninja Gaiden on the NES and, like many others, fell at the feet of bloody 6-2. The response to these streams has been awesome -- seriously, it's so much fun to stream again especially now I'm doing it on the regular. This coming week we're going to do 2 streams! First up on Monday, it'll be the first Patreon-exclusive stream for a long while where I happily shoot the shit with you guys for a spell. And later in the week (Wednesday or Thursday) we'll be playing some classic C64 games from Datasoft! There'll be Bruce Lee, there'll be Zorro, and obviously there'll be...er, the Dallas Quest. And of course, as is the case every year, we'll be having the BIG stream on Christmas Day! One of my favourite things to do, that. Hopefully I won't get banned this time...

All this has been good. Not all things have been good -- I've really been struggling with my leg again recently, which has been a pain in the arse and has limited me in doing things I want to do...including, sadly, the panto I was supposed to be doing today. Fortunately someone has been able to step in to replace me but that's a bit gutting that the leg just wasn't able to get better in time :(...the irony being I injured it through exercise that, I hoped, would get me REALLY fighting fit, more so than usual, for doing said panto. It did quite the opposite! Hey-ho.

Anyhoo -- generally things are good, and what with next Monday's vid, live streams, System-3 and the Amstrad vid that should now be coming out Christmas week, we have a belter of a schedule for this month. I'd also like to ask y'all what games you'd like to see yourself on live streams -- I'm always in the mood for something that I can ideally complete (or at least see a good solid chunk of) over the course of a couple of hours of playing, chatting, and naturally a few rounds of foul language.

Hope you enjoy all the stuff that's coming, and that you have a great weekend! See you on Monday :)
