Chapter 278 [Vault]

Title - HOTD: The Runaway Princess | Chapter 2 | Female

___________________________________________________

[3rd POV] [Year 71 AC | 26 Years before the birth of Rhaenyra Targaryen]

”…I definitely see why nobody has found what lies West of Westeros now” Visenya muttered to herself, sitting upon the back of Balerion the Black Dread.

They had been flying for days now, having long since passed the last known islands that had been found, flying faster than any boat could hope to travel, and even faster than most other dragons now that her bond with Balerion had been completely cemented.

Visenya had already been forced to use her water gathering device twice now, finding that it was quite easy to use, with its only real downside being that it was quite slow. Which was fair, considering the way it worked.

Balerion seemed to not mind the long flying, as whenever he got tired he’d just fly down and float on the waters without much difficulty. He was warm enough that it didn’t really harm him or anything, just made him a bit pouty that he had to sit in the waters for a few hours every day so she could sleep and he could rest and eat.

Visenya wondered how much farther she had gone than the previous farthest. She knew that previously it was Aegon, Visenya, and Rhaenys that were the farthest island, found and named after the conqueror and his wives.

It was also farther down than Westeros, but also far far to the west, the farthest place ever found to the west.

And she had almost certainly surpassed it by many miles at this point, Balerion moving faster than any boat could hope to move, and had already flown above a storm once already. The storm wasn’t big, so this was possible. But a storm big enough would be almost impossible to fly above, and that was something she was really hoping she’d beat.

She wanted to find the unknown lands before that happened.

”How much longer do you think we’ll need, partner?” Visenya asked her dragon, the great beast rumbling as if saying “I don’t know”.

“Yeah…I’ll agree with that one” Visenya responded with a sigh, knowing that she would have a lot more flying in her coming days to weeks.

And boy…did she have no idea.

[1 Week Later]

A week of flying. She had been flying for an entire week.

Visenya hadn’t expected it to take this long. For this world to be this gargantuan, this…huge. As if it was larger than Earth itself, as if it was…endless. She wondered absentmindedly on her 6th day if this world truly was endless in size. If it was impossible to ever truly find what lay beyond the previously adventured.

It was on the seventh day that Visenya had finally been unlucky enough to face the most dangerous foe of her journey.

A storm. A massive, impossibly huge storm. She had never seen anything even remotely on its level in both her past life, and her current. It was large enough that even Balerion with his intelligent eyes growled, understanding just how immensely dangerous this storm was.

Hurricane’s, massive, giant hurricanes formed in the seas in front of her. Her dragon roared as she clung tightly to him, groaning at the pull of the hurricane as it threatened to pull on her and Balerion.

And it nearly had, but Balerion had managed to just barely fly far enough from the hurricane, the sounds of lightning and thunder crackling around them, the skies dark and the seas making huge waves large enough to drown out castles and small towns back in Westeros.

It was like a wall, a great, huge wall meant to stop anyone from getting to…wherever she was going.

But finally, after an entire week of flying, as she slept on the back of her beloved dragon as it flew, she was awakened by the loud roar of Balerion, jumping in fright. Only to stop when she looked off in the distance, her eyes widening in shock at what she saw.

“W-Wha?” Visenya muttered to herself, staring off, as she saw…land.

She saw land.

“W-We did it…we actually did it!” Visenya yelled, a bright grin forming on her face as she screamed into the skies above in happiness, Balerion roaring in agreement as they had just done the impossible.

They had found what lies West of Westeros.

And unlike what was found before, it was a true, genuine land. Extending as far as the eye could see, not just a mere island, but…a continent. At least, that’s what Visenya truly, genuinely believes.

As Balerion began to lower to the grounds of their new home below, they landed with a crack, as she climbed off him moments later, landing into the sands of the beaches below, a grin on her face as she became the first to step upon what lays beyond the known world.

A new continent, one that is now her home.

And it was as she stepped upon the lands of this place, that she had felt it. Something…unlocking within her.

Visenya had always hoped she would get some sort of boon in her reincarnation, beyond her memories from her past life perfectly preserved, and her immense talent in martial arts, swordsmanship, and tactics.

And…as she felt the sand beneath her feet, she realized she had unlocked this boon. A great, incredible boon.

It was simple, but powerful.

She had claimed this land, it was hers, by right and law. And as the owner of this land, her…boon had recognized that.

And it had awakened as a result.

The boon was simple. Whenever she brought someone here, someone new to live upon her lands. Be it a servant, slave, worker, whatever, they would unlock talents in relation to what they do.

Meaning if she was to bring a strong knight to her lands, that knight would awaken even greater talents in swordsmanship that could surpass that of normal Kingsguard members, with only the best of them being a rival.

So if she was to bring an entire army like the Unsulllied here…

She’d have an unstoppable army. An army of ten thousand soldiers all capable of fighting better than any other army in the known world. That is what her boon was.

The boon that would pave the way to the building of her new home…her new kingdom.

Beyond that, she had been given another connection to this new home of hers. And that was that she could now travel to and from it far far far easier than before. What previously took her an entire week of travel would now take her only two days.

And that would apply to all others that comes to her new home.

The best part about this trait? Anyone who comes to her lands would become absolutely loyal to her. They would keep their free will, their freedom, but they could not betray her under any circumstances. With the only beings that are barred from this aspect being the Lords and Ladies of Westeros…for some reason.

Meaning she could literally just buy out or free tens of thousands of slaves and transport them to her new home, and gain an incredible workforce that could build entire cities faster and better than any other kingdom in the world. Developing entire cities in weeks to months.

A feat nobody else could come close to.

And with her stepping in this territory, she could tell that her own talent had awoken, as the boon was not her talent, but what had been given her by…whatever had brought her here. And the talent she had awoken?

The old blood.

The traits of a true Valyrian. Immunity to fire, Pyromancy, Magic, increased beauty, strengthened physique, slower aging, and an even greater talent in all things combat and leading.

A great boon to her. One that would make it impossible for her family to even think of fighting against her. She would make a new home where everyone would be free, where men and women could stand side by side.

A land of opportunities. A land for the free.

So with that, Visenya looked to her dragon, a grin forming on her face, as she climbed onto the back of her dragon, and decided to begin mapping out her new home.

So that she could bring forth a new world for all those that she freed and brought here.

A safer one.

And one where she would never be controlled by her family…

Ever again

That’s the end of the chapter!

Love interest is reincarnated Daenerys into the past like y’all want. And yes, this is all the power she has been granted. Nothing actually crazy, just gives her the ability to become incredible.

And think of her talents to be similar to that of her namesake, but she is also a pyromancer, and is more attractive. Oh, and she does have the ability to have dragon dreams.

Also, this new “Continent” she has found is a very very special one that you all will recognize pretty quickly once it is shown more.

She and Daenerys won’t meet until Daenerys is around 15, so another 15-16 years. Which begs the question.

Should I do a timeskip?

Tell me what y’all think.

I’ll be making the TWD and Yellowstone vault fics in the coming days.

Anyways, have a good day!
